Ellwood City Police Not Securing Home Game Tonight

It was mentioned in a previous post that Ellwood City School District is forced to hire private security instead of having Ellwood City Police securing the home games like they have been doing for years. The issue stems from the borough being unable to comply with the schools security needs at this time, mainly due to an ongoing uncertainty regarding how many officers they would need to hire per game. Tonight is the start of the season for the Wolverines and Panthers! Central Valley High School will be hosting the Wolverines vs. Central Valley game tonight. Ellwood City School District Forced to Hire Private Security for Games

There have been rumors going around that Ellwood City School District will no longer be provided with Ellwood City police officers for security at their high school sporting events, leaving it up to the school district to hire a private security company. Though Ellwood City’s Mayor, Anthony Court, confirmed the rumors to be true, he said said the issue is likely to be temporary. 2016 Riverside Panther Night

Yesterday held Riverside’s annual Panther Night, where hundreds of people gathered in celebration of recognizing this year’s fall sports teams. The night of festivities included raffles, concessions, band and cheering performances, and of course, introducing all of the team members. All of the teams have trained hard and are excited for their upcoming competitions.
