Munhall, PA– Lincoln won 55-42 against Steel Valley on Wednesday with the help of Anthony Roth, who scored 25 points, including 17 points in a decisive 3rd quarter for the Wolverines. Ellwood City Wolverines clinched their lead in the third quarter on a free throw from Roth. The Wolverines emerged victorious 78-62 against Freedom on Tuesday on the strength of Anthony Roth, who scored 31 points. Ellwood City had an early scoring surge, running out to an early double digit lead and claiming a 41-32 lead at the half. Lincoln solidified their lead in the final quarter, scoring 24 points. Ellwood City Wolverines Fall Short Against Shenango in Saturday’s Game

New Castle, PA – In spite of a solid performance from Anthony Roth with 17 points, Lincoln fell to Shenango 83-53. Roth led the charge for Ellwood City Wolverines‘s offense, scoring 17 points, with seven points during the third period. He also contributed five rebounds and one steal. Leetsdale, PA – Wolverine guard Anthony Roth put 21 points on the scoreboard, but Lincoln fell to Quaker Valley 88-57 Tuesday Night in a relatively high-scoring affair. All four local basketball teams in action Friday night were victorious in their respective Tip-Off Tournament opening round contests.  Ellwood City Wolverines girls & boys squads along with Riverside Pantehrs girls and boys squads are all off to strong starts to their seasons after handily securing victories Friday night. Season Tickets for Wolverines Basketball

Season tickets for the Ellwood City Wolverines Varsity Boys and Girls 2017/2018 basketball seasons will be on sale in the high school office. The cost is $20 for each season ticket. Tickets will be sold individually as a boys ticket and a girls ticket. Season tickets will also be sold at the games. General admission game tickets are $5 for adults and $1 for senior citizens.  Student Super Fan tickets will be sold in room 319. Student tickets will be $ 2.00 at the door.

Hunting Season

Pennsylvania’s rifle deer hunting season starts today and will run through December 9. According to Pennsylvania’s Game Commission, they estimate about 550,000 hunters with rifles are expected to take to the woods in search of white-tailed deer. Hunters are allowed to harvest one buck, as well as an antlerless deer for each antlerless permit they hold. We encourage everyone to practice safety while out hunting and be alert for other people and animals. Last year a local man mistook a horse for a deer, resulting in the horse’s death.
