Jillian Court, Executive Director of Media, for the Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce, has accepted a new position with the Lawrence County Conservation District as a Conservation Technician. Jillian has served as a crucial part of not only the Chamber, but as the head of Ellwood City Community Enrichment, Secretary for Ellwood City Revitalization, Treasurer for All Aboard Ellwood, and sits on multiple committees. Council Votes to Not Appeal Ruling on Facebook Page

Ellwood City Council voted Monday night to not appeal an Office of Open Records ruling regarding a Facebook page run by two council members. The page, “Ellwood City Council-Rob Brough and Lisa Guerrera,” which is run by council members Lisa Guerrera and Rob Brough, recently came under scrutiny when resident Jan Williams filed a Right to Know Law request with the borough. Williams wanted access to deleted comments, as well as a list of blocked and banned users. Borough Of Ellwood City Announces Utility Account Budget Plan

The Ellwood City Borough Council adopted Resolution #2004-4 which approves a budget payment plan for utility accounts. These accounts, however, have to be under certain provisions. Provision one states that customers may complete the application form provided by the Borough during the annual open enrollment period. This period is from the third Monday in March through the third Friday in April. Following, the second provision mentions that the first budget-billing amount will appear on the May utility bill. Bernstine Calls for More Transparency in Taxpayer-Funded Construction Projects

HARRISBURG – In an effort to promote transparency, Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence) today introduced legislation to require full disclosure of contractual terms, known as project labor agreements (PLAs), on construction projects funded by taxpayer dollars. On Thursday, January 10, the Ellwood City Area School District Board of Directors held their monthly board meeting in the Board Room at Lincoln High School.
