Mayor Court Warns Against Excessive Speeding

Mayor Anthony J. Court has issued a statement regarding excessive amount of speeding throughout the Ellwood City Borough. According to the mayor’s office, Court has made Ellwood City Police Department officers aware of the situation and has noted that the speeding will not be tolerated. “This excessive speeding has led to law enforcement to crack down against speeding,” says Court. “The message is quite clear to please slow down!” According to the information made available by the mayor’s office, speed traps will be conducted in the very near future. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: On February 26th at approximately 1:17 a.m., PA State Police investigated a report of criminal mischief near a residence on Heinz Camp Road, Wayne Township. According to the report, a 31-year-old female victim from Ellwood City related that she was contacted by a female friend requesting a ride home due to an ongoing argument with her boyfriend. When the victim arrived on scene, the vehicle she was operating was punched by Brandon Holsinger, 25, of Ellwood City, causing a large dent to the front passenger door of a 2012 Mazda. Marla Brown (R-Lawrence) announced during a Capitol press conference today in Harrisburg that she is the prime co-sponsor of legislation that would reduce the Personal Income Tax (PIT) rate and increase funding for property tax relief. Ellwood City Borough Council Adopts Utility Account Budget Plan

According to a press release made available by the Borough of Ellwood City, a utility account budget plan has been announced. The Ellwood City Borough Council adopted Resolution #2004-4 approving a budget payment plan for utility accounts under the following provisions: Customers may complete the application form provided by the Borough during the annual open enrollment period from the third Monday in March through the third Friday in April The first budget-billing amount will appear on the May utility bill. Lawrence County Added To Pennsylvania’s Spotted Lanternfly Quarantine

Harrisburg, PA – Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding this week announced that six counties have been added to Pennsylvania’s spotted lanternfly quarantine zone ahead of the 2023 spring hatch. Ellwood City Lions Club Hosting Night At The Races

The Ellwood City Lions Club is having a Night At The Races to raise funds for its 2023 campaign. The campaign provides donations and community services throughout the Ellwood City area. Health Resource Center Now Open To Assist Residents With Health Concerns Following Dertailment

HARRISBURG – Residents of Beaver and Lawrence counties who have health concerns following the recent train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio can now receive assistance at the Health Resource Center in Darlington Township, Beaver County, Sen. Elder Vogel (R-47) and Sen. Camera Bartolotta (R-46) said today. The center is operated by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Hayden Slade, a senior at Lincoln High School, has been named a National Merit Finalist in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program. The annual Lawrence County Earth Day Celebration will be held on Saturday, April 22nd at Ewing Park, Ellwood City from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. The planning committee is seeking vendors to sell environmentally friendly products.
