In the spirit of pride in the community, and an effort to protect, increase and maintain property values, the Borough of Ellwood City has some minimum standards outlined in its ordinances. The adoption by ordinance of the International Property Maintenance Code 2012 (Ellwood City Borough Code of Ordinances, Chapter 1492) listed below details pertinent sections that relate to residential and commercial property owners. 2nd Beautification Award Winner of 2024 Announced

Mayor Anthony J. Court presented the 2nd winner of 2024 Beautification Award to Bill and Samantha DeJoseph of 115 First Street. “Congratulations, Bill and Samantha!” Mayor Court said in an e-mailed statement. “Lots of work went into this property and it shows, job well done!” Bill and Samantha were presented with a yard sign to display and a gift certificate to a local restaurant. POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT: Arzie Hall, 20, of Ellwood City is charged with Aggravated Assault by Vehicle after an incident on March 26th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 7:35 p.m., police were dispatched to Beaver Avenue for a motor vehicle accident. When police spoke to Hall and his passenger, they were told an argument had occurred and that Hall, the driver of the vehicle, looked away from the road and had hit a nearby telephone pole. Saturday Summer Concert Series Set To Begin June 1st

This Saturday, June 1st, the Ellwood City Summer Concert Series returns in the Community Plaza! Come out and swing to the sounds of the 40’s and 50’s as the series kicks off with the Dante DiThomas Swing Band! The event is free to attend and will feature a 50/50 raffle. Ellwood City Wolves Host Annual Scholarship Dinner

The Ellwood City Wolves Club Den II hosted their annual Scholarship Dinner on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at the Connequenessing Country Club. The club provides 9 scholarships a year ($16,000) to graduating seniors from Lincoln and Riverside high schools and to two community college students. The Wolves Club members, guests, school guidance counselors, community college representatives and Scholarship winners were greeted by Scholarship Committee Chairman John DiBuono.  Dennis Boariu served as Master of Ceremonies. It has been 35 years! The Lincoln High School Class of 1989 will be getting together for an informal class reunion later this month. Classmates will gather starting at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 29th at The Time Brew Pub located at 600 Mount Vernon Drive. Mayor Court Announces 1st 2024 Beautification Award Winner

Mayor Anthony J. Court announced the 1st Beautification Award winner for 2024. Congratulations to Tim and Becky Marshall on 107 Glen Avenue! “It did not go unnoticed the hard work that was put into their beautiful yard,” said Court in an emailed statement.
