3rd Beautification Award Winner Announced

Mayor Anthony J. Court presented the 3rd Beautification Award of 2023 to Nick and Kathy Curcio of 310 Petain Street. This is the home that Kathy grew up in and she still takes a lot of pride in maintaining their property. “Congratulations, Nick and Kathy, and keep up the good work,” said Mayor Court in a statement. Borough Receives Pennsylvania Day Grant In Support of Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful

To support community improvement and engage volunteers, the Borough of Ellwood City announced today it is the recipient of a $2,000.00 2023 National Pennsylvania Day Mini Grant from America250PA and EQT Corporation, in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and in support of Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful. AGGRAVATED ASSAULT: Anthony Cirelli, 33, of Ellwood City is charged with Aggravated Assault after an incident on May 17th. According to a criminal complaint, police received a call for a male that was assaulted with a ball bat at a residence on Franklin Avenue. According to the complaint, a female resident was at the property when Cirelli struck the male victim in the head with a bat. Lawrence County To Receive Funding From Marcellus Drilling Impacts

HARRISBURG – Rep. Marla Brown (R-Lawrence) today announced nearly $353,000 in impact fees paid by Marcellus Shale drilling companies will benefit residents of the 9th Legislative District. For the reporting year of 2022, natural gas producers paid nearly $279 million in impact fees statewide, for a total of $2.5 billion over the past 11 years.
