Ellwood City Subject To 30-Day Open Outdoor Burning Ban

As part of the monthly meeting of the Lawrence County Commissioners that took place Thursday morning, the board discussed and adopted a Countywide Burn Ban. The ban does include Ellwood City and our surrounding areas. According to the Ellwood City Fire Department, and for the safety and welfare of the people of Lawrence County, the Lawrence County Commissioners placed an OPEN OUTDOOR BURNING BAN for all of Lawrence County. New Castle, PA – A 27-year-old full-time emergency medical technician, foster and stepmother and nondirected organ donor has long wanted to resume pursuit of a college degree. Stonecrest Business Park Among Projects To Benefit From $9.65M In State Grant Funding

Stonecrest Business Park, L.P. is among eleven projects Beaver, Butler, and Lawrence Counties that will benefit from over $9 Million in state grants. $500,000 will go toward the construction of a new industrial building at Stonecrest Business Park, aimed at attracting industrial investment and fostering job creation in the region. POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

PUBLIC INTOXICATION: Blake Zeigler, 21, of Ellwood City is charged with public intoxication after an incident on September 25th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 12:46p.m., police were dispatched to 7-11 and advised that a male was loitering outside asking customers to purchase him tobacco in exchange for cocaine. Officers were aware of this incident. Police then located Zeigler, who was riding a bike, and advised him of the complaint to which Zeigler denied. Police then noticed a smell of alcohol emitting from Zeigler and asked him step off the bike. Zeigler refused and reached for his pocket….


Paving Set To Begin On Lawrence Avenue

As part of the ongoing PennDOT SR351 project, construction crews will start base repairs on Lawrence Avenue beginning Wednesday night and continue repairs through Friday night. According to borough manager Kevin Swogger, road work will be done between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Lawrence Avenue is due to expect paving this week. Next week the milling and paving will be starting on 5th Street for two night and then finishing up the Crescent Avenue and 4th Street section.
