Police Report: Adderal Stolen in Burglary

According to the police report, on Monday night officers were called to the residence of 520 Second Street in Ellwood. The victim stated that she came home and heard foot steps and noises in her house. She said there was a trail of “wet” footprints, which she cleaned up before police arrived, and the screen on the upstairs window was popped out. It appeared that the burglars may have entered the house by climbing onto a steel crate located around the back of the house giving them the ability to reach the roof, thus allowing them to force their way…


Class of 1954 August Meeting

Pudue La Cava hosted the 1954 Lincoln Class “Life is a Beach” committee for a wrap-up meeting at her residence on Thursday, August 11. The session began with lunch provided by committee members, Ann Amadio, Paul Abraham, Arlene “Pinky” Maielli, Ilene Gardner, Glemmy Sirimarco, and La Cava. Notification of Tax Office Hours in August

Mary Ann Portugallo, Ellwood City tax collector located in the municipal building, informs the public that school discount is usually due by August 31 but is now extended to September 15. Her office will remain regular – 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.  


Former Councilman Pleads Council to Oppose New Water Treatment Plant

With recent incidents involving contaminated water sources all across America, it’s not surprising that former councilman, Ralph Chiappetta, wanted to address his concerns at the Monday council meeting regarding the new water treatment plant that is supposed to be replacing the old one- affecting many Ellwood City residents. His concern with this is that the plant will be supplying water to homes from the Connoquenessing Creek and Beaver River instead of where the water is currently supplied from, the Slippery Rock Creek. 8/15/16 Council Brief: Motions and Concerns

Last night council had their monthly agenda voted upon. Before the motions were read, a few visitors had some concerns they addressed to council. Paul Dici brought to the councils attention that the Freedom Health Care company lot, in Ellwood, is not being properly kept up. He said there are “weeds four feet high”. Beaver County Auto will be holding an autograph night on Thursday August 18th from 5-7 p.m. benefiting The Josh and Brittney Harrison For Hope Foundation at its Nissan location in Chippewa Township. Ellport “Burglary”

On Friday, details were given about police being called to a residential home in Ellport after a man pulled a gun on what he believed were burglars, in his house. Fortunately, the whole incident was a misunderstanding and no one got hurt. The man who thought his house was being robbed was apparently unaware that his house had been sold in a Sheriffs Auction and was now under new ownership.
