WXED- Ellwood’s very own local radio station, is excited to be part of the following events and encourages everyone of all ages to attend: Tomorrow: Free parking lot dance party, hosted by Dayspring Harvest Ministries/WXED Radio Station from  6-9 p.m. at 316 6th Street. Wayne Township Monthly Board Meeting

The Wayne Township Supervisors, 1418 Wampum Road, Ellwood City, PA 16117, held its monthly Supervisor Board Meeting, Thursday, August 4, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. Under the direction of William Hepler, Supervisor, the meeting opened with the ‘”Pledge of Allegiance” and a “Moment of Silence”.  Other officers in attendance were Supervisors: Chairman, Charles Hutchison & Vice Chairman, Rick Weingartner; Township Solicitor, Ryan Long.  Secretary/Treasurer, Shari D. Man accused of cooking meth and holding knife to girlfriend’s throat According to the criminal complaint, on August 28 a woman arrived to the police station in hysterics claiming she had a knife put to her throat by her boyfriend, Tyler Michael Cory Amos, 25, of Cochranton, Pennsylvania. The victim said that she woke up from a nap and when she walked into her kitchen she saw Amos cooking a substance in a jar with a hose attached, which she believes was meth. Medevac Ambulance Service Recognized for Advanced Pediatric Service

Medevac Ambulance Service has received an Advanced Certificate of Recognition from the Pennsylvania Emergency Medical Services for Children. This multi-phase recognition program was created for EMS agencies who wish to establish programs and standards to improve their capabilities to deliver care to pediatrics. Medevac is the first EMS agency in Lawrence County to receive Advanced level. The Pediatric Voluntary Recognition Program (PVRP) was created by the EMS for Children program, in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Bureau of EMS. Ellwood City School District Forced to Hire Private Security for Games

There have been rumors going around that Ellwood City School District will no longer be provided with Ellwood City police officers for security at their high school sporting events, leaving it up to the school district to hire a private security company. Though Ellwood City’s Mayor, Anthony Court, confirmed the rumors to be true, he said said the issue is likely to be temporary. Activities taking place at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following: The library will be closed on Monday, September 5, in observance of the Labor Day holiday.
