CCBC Partners With Regional Leaders To Host Cracker Plant Training and Career Expo

Monaca, PA – In a proactive effort to inform residents about current and emerging job opportunities – including Shell’s ethane cracker plant in Potter Township – Community College of Beaver County and regional leaders are hosting Cracker Plant: Building/Construction Trades and Manufacturing Career Expo on Thursday, November 17, beginning at 6:00 p.m., in CCBC’s Dome. “CCBC and our regional partners recognize the immediate need for our region to promote awareness and understanding of the various types of education and training programs that will prepare residents for short, intermediate, and long-term employment opportunities associated with the ethane cracker plant,” said CCBC…

The Golden Agers of Bell Memorial Honored

The Golden Agers of Bell Memorial were honored with a dinner of ham and scallop potatoes after church on Sunday, November 13th. The dinner committee was headed up by Kathy Newton and Carrie Young with help from Kathy Brandes and Cindy Lokey along with numerous teenagers. As of 8a.m. November 11, we counted the votes- it was a very close race! Ellwood City Honors Veterans Day

Veterans Day falls annually on November 11, as a day to appreciate our veterans who have fought and continue to fight for our freedom. Veterans Day was initially started in 1938 to honor World War I veterans because on November 11, 1918, Germany signed an armistice agreement with the Allies- effectively ending World War I. Local Shop Prepares for Holiday Season

If you take a walk along Sixth Street you will eventually be greeted by an outstanding storefront garnished with a mixed array of floral and winter decorations as Posies by Patti prepares for the upcoming holiday seasons. After 25 years at one location, Posies by Patti has recently moved from their store located on Lawrence Avenue to 328 Sixth Street in order to better accommodate their steadily growing business. Senator Vogel to Host Veterans’ Specialist at New Castle District Office

Senator Vogel announced today that he will host a veterans’ specialist in his New Castle District Office to assist constituents with various issues related to their military service. Stephanie Bengoa of the American Legion Veterans Assistance Program will be available on Wednesday, November 16 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Senator Vogel’s New Castle Office (1905 W. Gibbons’ Offices to Close

ELLWOOD CITY, Nov. 10 –The offices of state Rep. Jaret Gibbons, D-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence, will be closing permanently on Friday, Nov. 11. Gibbons said that all documents and state Transportation Department paperwork currently being processed by his offices will be mailed directly to the individual’s home. PHOTOS: Car Crashes Into School Steps

According to the police report, on November 5th at approximately 2:00a.m., an Ellwood officer was monitoring traffic on the corner of Lawrence Ave. and Fourth St. when a black Mercedes C230 sped east on Lawrence Ave. approaching the stop sign on Fourth failing to stop for the sign and then slamming on the brakes to turn sharply into B&B Express’s parking lot to avoid colliding into gas pumps.
