Ellwood City Area Public Library Activities for Week of November 14, 2016

Activities taking place at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following:

Monday, November 14, at 6:30 p.m. – Classics Book Discussion Group for Adults. The group will discuss the book, “Ten North Frederick,” by John O’Hara. New members are always welcome, so call the library at 724-758-6458 for more information.

Tuesday, November 15, at 10:00 a.m. — Family Laptime, an interactive program designed for babies as young as 6 months old and preschoolers up to 5 years old. The program, which runs through November 22, features stories, songs, finger plays and more. Registration is requested, so call the library for more information.

Wednesday, November 16, at 10:00 a.m. — “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. “Coloring for Adults” is a new concept in helping to reduce the stresses of everyday life. Everyone is welcome, so call the library for more information.

Wednesday, November 16, at 3:00 p.m. – Creative Writing Workshop for students in 7th grade and up. The group meets twice each month to share their work and to discuss writing tips and techniques. New members are always welcome, so call the library for more information.

Thursday, November 17, at 10:00 a.m. — Preschool Story Time, designed for children 3 years of age and older. Featured are stories, songs, finger plays and more. Registration is requested, so call the library for more information.

Thursday, November 17, at 3:00 p.m. – “Food 4 Thought,” a book discussion group for students in 9th grade and up. The group will discuss the book, “Ivory and Bone,” by Julie Eshbaugh. Call the library for more information.

Thursday, November 17, at 6:00 p.m. — Adult Knitting Group meets at the library weekly. Members work on individual projects and provide their own materials. New members are always welcome, so call the library for more information.

This month’s “Movie Night for Adults” will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30. These monthly events are open to all area adults free of charge. New-to-DVD films are shown and refreshments are available. This is the last movie for the year — no film is shown in December or in January. These monthly movie nights will resume in February.

A “Family Movie” event will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 3. The event is free and open to all area children and their families. Children 10 years of age and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Call the library for more information or to discover the title of the film to be shown.

The library will be closed on Thanksgiving Day in observance of the holiday. Normal hours will resume on Friday, November 25.
