POLICE: Two Charged With Marijuana Possession

Two Charged with Marijuana Possession Joseph Edward Haybarger, 20, of Ellwood City, and Anthony Booker, 18, of New Castle, were both charged after an incident that occurred on Jan. 17. According to the criminal complaint, an officer was traveling behind a vehicle operated by Haybarger when the officer noticed the passenger side window was down and the smell of marijuana was emitting from the car. The officer stopped the vehicle and as Haybarger opened his driver side window the smell of suspected marijuana was again emanating from the vehicle. Construction on Koppel Bridge to Commence Jan. 30

Koppel Bridge, one of the most used bridges for Ellwoodians, is finally going to be replaced with a modern steel bridge; construction will commence Jan. 30 and is speculated to last into summer of 2018. Although the currently standing bridge, which was originally constructed almost a full century ago is still safe to commute on, the goal of the new bridge is to make it even safer and more efficient. Mohawk School District Closed After Testing Positive for E. Coli in Water

According to a news source, all Mohawk district schools are closed today after receiving positive results of the potentially deadly E. Coli bacteria contaminating the water at the districts high school location. The districts elementary school is provided water from a different system and their water remains uncontaminated, however the school is still closed. POLICE: Two Charged in Christmas Burglary Attempt

According to the criminal complaint, two males will be facing burglary charges after an incident that occurred on Christmas Day at approximately 11:45p.m. at a residence on Spring Avenue.
