Criminal Complaints: Ellwood City Man Facing Felony Theft Charges

Ellwood City Man Facing Felony Theft Charges James Allen Sawyers, 26, of Ellwood City, is facing one felony count of theft by unlawful taking and one felony count of receiving stolen property after stealing a jewelry box full of miscellaneous jewelry from a local household. According to the complaint, the resident of the household was unwell for several months and had to have caregivers in and out of the residence often. The homeowner had noticed the jewelry box missing after one of the caregivers had brought their son, who would sometimes cut the grass of the property until his services…

New Year’s Eve Bingo

Holy Redeemer is hosting their New Year’s Eve Bingo on December 31, 2017 at the Catholic Center located at 311 Lawrence Avenue. Doors open at 5p.m. and the cost is $25.00 in advance of $30.00 the day of at the door. $1000.00 coverall with 70+ players – cookie jars and two winner-take-all games! Dinner is included with festivities from 5p.m. until the first break. Tickets can be purchased at regular bingo and the church office.

One of the Ellwood City Municipal Women House Tour homes, the Leavens household, located at 405 Pershing St., in Ellwood City, is the second home on the list to be decorated for the event. Wampum, PA – Each year, the Wampum Area Christmas Parade Committee prepares floats that do not compete in the popular float contest. They like to add to parade line-up each to assure new and fresh content to complement the familiar traditions. Join the Ellwood City Relay for Life organization for their fourth meeting of the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Ellwood on Thursday, December 7th at 6p.m. They will be meeting at The Beanery, 212 Portersville Road in Ellport, (the old La Isla Mexican Restaurant). Newborn’s Body Found Under Porch of Home on Ellwood Road

Brittany Robinson, 23, of Shenango Township is facing charges of homicide, abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence, and concealing the death of a child after the body of her newborn was found hidden under the porch of a home on Ellwood Road. The owner of a home in the 3200 block on Ellwood Road called the police on Sunday, who then found the infant’s body hidden in a crawlspace outside. Reportedly the child was wrapped in a T-shirt when found. Police say the boy was viable and full-term and weighing approximately seven pounds and investigators believe the baby was born…

During several days during December, the Wurtemburg United Methodist Church will be hosting a Nativities On Display event featuring over 200 displays. The event dates and times are Thursday, Dec 7 from 4p.m.-8p.m., Friday, Dec 8 from 4p.m.-8p.m., and Saturday, Dec 9 from 11a.m.-3p.m. Admission is free but donations are welcome.
