Commissioners Honor BC3, Present Proclamation to Native Ellwood City Graduate

Butler, PA- Butler County Commissioners Leslie Osche, Kimberly Geyer and Kevin Boozel on Wednesday recognized Butler County Community College’s back-to-back rankings as the No. 1 community college in Pennsylvania by presenting a proclamation to BC3 President Dr. Nick Neupauer during the board’s public meeting. Neupauer, formerly of Ellwood City, is a 1985 graduate of Lincoln High School. The 8.5-inch by 14-inch tan proclamation, enclosed in a navy blue folder stamped with the Commissioners’ Office, Butler County, PA crest, also lauded BC3 for 2017 accomplishments prior to the college being selected No. 1 again in October by Schools.com. BREAKING: Accident on Route 65

Your morning commute may be slowed down if you plan on taking Route 65 near Mercer Road. There are several police, firemen and paramedics on the scene currently. An officer is directing the oncoming traffic into the opposing lane. Not much is known about the accident at this time. We will update the post when more information becomes available.

The Ellwood City United Fund is having a Pens Hockey Ticket Raffle, winner will receive 4-Pens hockey tickets to the February 27 game in section 104, Row F, seats 7, 8, 9 and 10 as well as $200 cash. There is still time to donate to the Riverside Christmas Angel Collection Drive, which takes donations up until December 11. New Plans for YDC Property Take Shape, Bernstine Says

Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence) today announced a new bid of sale has been accepted by the state Department of General Services for the Youth Development Center (YDC) property in Lawrence County. The $2 million bid was placed by Lawrence County Community Action Partnership (LCCAP), which plans to develop the property to accommodate educational, health care and short-term housing facilities, among other plans. Criminal Complaints: Fombell Man Eludes Officers in High Speed Chase

Fombell Man Eludes Officers in High Speed Chase Ryan Patrick Kelosky, 24, of Fombell, is facing charges of fleeing an officer and reckless driving after an incident occurred late last month. According to the criminal complaint, officers observed Kelosky stop at a green light then peel out at the intersection of Fountain Avenue and Second Street. While the officer was attempting to stop the vehicle, Kelosky sped up over 100mph around the 100 block of Portersville Road until the officer was no longer able to see the vehicle.
