Wolverine Senior Signs With Seton Hill

Congratulations are in order for Ellwood City senior Natalia Greco. Greco is the second Ellwood City Softball senior to commit to further not only her education, but her softball career at a higher level. On Tuesday, Greco signed to attend Seton Hill following her sister, Skyla Greco, who signed in 2018. Much like Ariana Garroway, there is a long and hard work filled varsity softball career following her all the way to Seton Hill college. VIDEO: Ellwood City Medical Center Latest, GoFundMe Created

KDKA reporter Ralph Iannotti once again brought recent details in a video posted over the weekend following the “on-again, off-again payroll mess” at the Ellwood City Medical Center. According to the video report, the medical center failed to pay its December electric bill, which has cause some in the community to want to take action. Mayor Anthony Court said the borough would “ignore penalty or interest charges on the electric bill for the next three months.” The only stipulation, the Borough’s mayor stated in the published report is the money saved has to go to help some of the hospital employees….

WASHINGTON — U.S. Representative Mike Kelly (PA-16) today sent an official letter to the U.S. Department of Labor to help ensure a speedy resolution to recent paycheck problems for employees at Ellwood City Hospital in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania. Lincoln High School Alumni Benefit Concert

On Saturday, May 11, the Lincoln High School Concert Choir will be celebrating their 75th Anniversary. In honor of this milestone, the choir will be putting on an Alumni Benefit Concert. Any and all proceeds will benefit the Cindy Pertile Scholarship Fund. This fun will provide two types of scholarships annually. One scholarship goes towards the annual Concert Choir trip and the other goes towards a graduating member of the LHS music department to help further their education after high school. VIDEO: Lawmaker Calls For Investigation Into Ellwood Medical Center

Employees are still on the job, keeping the Ellwood City Medical Center open and safe, but without pay.  This may change as state and Lawrence County lawmakers are now calling for an investigation into the medical center. Last week, employees finally received good checks owed before Christmas – two weeks late – amid a series of recently reported payroll problems. According to a KDKA report, services have been dropped and departments have been closed. The century old medical center has gone from around 400 people to about 190.
