Ellwood City Public Library Activities For Week of October 5th

The Ellwood City Area Public Library offers a variety of weekly activities. Information is available by calling the library at 724-758-6458. PLEASE NOTE – WE ARE OPEN The Library will be open by appointment only starting Tuesday, September 29, 2020. Call the library to set up an appointment to browse for books or use a computer. Anything printed must be paid for with exact change or check. We will not be making copies at this time. Newspapers and magazines will not be available. Fearscapes Haunted Attraction: An Immersive Escape

WUMC Offering “Soup Quarts-to-Go”

The monthly Soup Suppers at Wurtemburg United Methodist Church have been modified to ensure the safety of our Customers and Volunteers. Starting Saturday, October 10th, soup will be sold in quart jars; using the Drive-Thru method. We plan to continue serving our soup in this manner; until it is safe to resume serving sit-down inside.  The church is located at 1244 Portersville Rd, Ellwood City, PA 16117. Everything turned out perfectly. The Pe’Wee Lunch Exhibit brought together people from all generations. It all started as a project to be involved with the Ellwood City Annual Fall Fest, which was canceled due to Covid-19. Ellwood City Homecoming Queen & King Announced

Congratulations are in order for the 2020 Ellwood City Homecoming Queen and King! The winners were announced Friday night during the Ellwood City varsity football game at Helling Stadium that pitted the Wolverines against Beaver Falls.  Ellwood City was defeated 54-26 in the football contest. The game was streamed on the EC Wolverines YouTube.com webpage while the ceremony and crowning was live streamed on the Ellwood City Cheerleaders Facebook Page. Wampum Announces Cancellation of Christmas Parade

In a post on social media Sunday, the Wampum Area Christmas Parade Committee (WACP) announced the cancellation of their annual Christmas Parade. “After much consideration. The Wampum Area Christmas Parade Committee regrets that we made the very difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Christmas Parade.” The message was announced by Donna Kuiken, long-standing WACP President. “No one is more disappointed than we are to cancel this event. 2020 Beaver County Hazardous Waste Collection Date Announced

Safely dispose of common household chemicals and take advantage of the Beaver County Hazardous Waste Collection event that is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, 2020. The collection will take place at the Bradys Run Park Recycling Center from 9:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. A new fee structure will be in place – $20.00 and covers disposal of up to 10 gallons/50 pounds of the accepted materials. Oversize loads will be subject to additional charges.
