Lincoln High School will celebrate its 65th Annual Homecoming on Friday, October 1st, when the Ellwood City Wolverines host the Neshannock Lancers at Helling Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The Homecoming Queen’s Court will be announced on the field during pre-game ceremonies that begin at 6:30 p.m., and the 2021 Homecoming Queen will be crowned during halftime. Route 288 Realignment Project Ongoing, On Track For Completion As Scheduled

Barring any unforeseen field issues, the realignment and construction of Route 288 near the Zelienople Airport in on track for completion as scheduled. The roadway is currently closed and under detour as part of a 102-day closure for the realignment project. According to PENNDOT spokesperson Steve Cowan, the contractor anticipates completing the work within the contract parameters. Holy Redeemer Social Club Planning Annual Casino Trip

The Holy Redeemer Social Club is planning its annual trip to Seneca Niagara next month. The trip is scheduled to take place on Sunday, October 10, 2021. The cost is $40.00 to join the casino trip.  The fee includes $25.00 in free play at the casino. “We have a few seats left,” says event organizer, John Pansera. Meals on Wheels Seeking Cook, Volunteers, Clients

Meals on Wheels, the beloved program that offers nutritional meals to those in need is looking for a cook. The position will be a Monday-Friday job from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. The person will order and receive foods, prepare the foods, and organize the volunteers. ASSAULT WITH WEAPON: According to a PA State Police report, Katelyn Weller, 26, and Lindsey Weller, 25, both of Ellwood City have been arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after an incident on September 13 at approximately 6:34 p.m. According to the report, PSP New Castle was dispatched to an assault which occurred on West Lawrence Avenue. The 27-year-old victim related that the both Weller females entered his garage, hit him over the head with a rock, continued to assault him and cause property damage within his garage. Wayne Township Announces Its “Clean Up Day”

Wayne Township has announced its annual clean up day. The township clean up day will take place on Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. until noon at the municipal building located at 1418 Wampum Road, Ellwood City, PA 16117. Council Appoints Brad Ovial to Open Seat

Ellwood City Borough Council voted Monday evening to appoint Brad Ovial to fill the vacant seat of former councilwoman Lisa Guerrera. Ovial and another primary candidate Jan Williams both submitted letters of interest in filling the vacant seat. Council members George Celli, Caleb Cragle, Jim Barry, and Michelle Lamenza all voted in favor of Ovial—Councilman Rob Brough and Councilwoman Judith Dici were absent from the meeting.
