The King will be crowned at a school wide pep rally on Friday, October 14th, and the Queen will be crowned that evening at halftime of the football game versus the Beaver Falls Tigers. POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

HARASSMENT: On September 24, at approximately 6:43 p.m., PA State Police were dispatched to a known address on Beaver Street, Wampum Borough, for a reported domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, both parties involved, Sharon Norris, 43, and Justin Norris, 45, were separated. One individual was treated at the scene for a minor head injury. Further investigation led to both parties receiving charges of harassment and disorderly conduct will be filed through MDJ 53-3-01. ARISE Kicks Off Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Mayor Anthony J. Court and Sgt. Michael McBride helped Jessica Mudger, Outreach Specialist for ARISE get the month long awareness program started in the borough. Lawrence County ARISE placed purple bows and signs throughout the Ellwood City downtown area in observance of the cause. The Ellwood City Police Department will also be wearing purple ribbon pins on their uniforms throughout the month. 2022 Riverside Homecoming Court Announced

Congratulations to the 2022 Riverside Homecoming Court! The court was announced at the end of last week and the queen will be crowned Friday night at halftime of the Riverside football game. The Homecoming game will be played against Western Beaver at home, with the game starting at 7:00 p.m. The Panthers will look to rebound from their 44-14 loss last week at Beaver Falls that snapped Riverside’s 3-game winning streak.  The team carries a 3-2 season record into the contest. Last Wander Ellwood of Season Set For Wednesday

The 1957 Class of Lincoln High School will meet for lunch on Wednesday, October 19th, at Vinny’s Restaurant on Beaver Avenue in Ellwood City. Reservations are due by Monday, October 10th, and can be made by a phone call or text to Nancy Pietrandrea at 724-622-5992. Bernstine’s Markie’s Law Legislation Vetoed by Governor

HARRISBURG – Legislation sponsored by Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence) that would focus on the parole process for violent offenders was vetoed today by Gov.
