Annual Richard Hogue Memorial Blood Drive Scheduled For November 12

The annual Richard Hogue Memorial Blood Drive has been announced and scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 12, 2022. Hogue, who was 28, was murdered on November 16, 2013. At the time of his death, he resided in Enon Valley, worked for Nick Mars Construction as a carpenter, and was a member of the Ellwood City Eagles Club. Three Lawrence County Men Among Seven Charged With Drug Trafficking Conspiracy

PITTSBURGH – Eliot Gentry, Daivahn Brown, Donald Jeter, William McCree, Teqwan Scott, Donald Snowden, and Kailin Stewart have been indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh for narcotics trafficking, United States Attorney Cindy K. Chung announced today. The Indictment, returned on Oct. 11 and yesterday, charges the seven defendants with conspiring to possess with intent to distribute and distribute at least 100 grams of fluorofentanyl, 40 grams of fentanyl, five kilograms of cocaine, 28 grams of cocaine base, and a quantity of methamphetamine, from May 2021 to October 2022. Scholarships to be Awarded by Ellwood City Community Health Foundation

The Ellwood City Community Health Foundation (ECCHF) has been approved to offer scholarships to individuals who enroll in higher education to pursue a career in the medical field. The Foundation is offering four scholarships for the 2022-2023 Academic School Year. Two scholarships will be given for Financial Need and two for Scholastic Achievement. Each scholarship will be given for four years as along as the recipient maintains a grade point average of 2.0 at the end of each semester. Helling Stadium to Open to Guests, Spectators, Athletes for Homecoming Game

Ellwood City Area School District will open the gates to the newly renovated Helling Stadium on Friday, October 14 in its first home game of the season against Beaver Falls. Rose Rossi Celebrates 100th Birthday

Rose Y. Rossi of Newhaven Court, Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople, celebrated her 100th birthday at Shakespeare’s Restaurant in Ellwood City, with 90 family members, relatives and friends from Texas, Florida, Ohio and PA. She lived in Ellwood City from the age of 6 until she was 99 years old. The former Rose Giacobbi was born October 3, 1922 in McComas, W.V., daughter of the late Alphonso and Chlorinda Marinucci Giacobbi. Municipal Woman’s Club to Host Murder Mystery Dinner

It’s dinner to die for … The Municipal Woman’s Club is pleased to present The Death of Dr. Frankenstein, a murder/mystery dinner performed by Musical Mysteries & More.
