Council Takes Step to Recoup Funds Owed by Former Medical Center

Ellwood City Borough Council unanimously approved a resolution to collect $450,000 in delinquent utility bills and taxes owed by the former Ellwood City Medical Center. Pelorus Equity Group Inc. is the current owner of that debt. “This is a good step forward toward resolution with this property,” said Borough Manager David Allen. Riverside School District Issues COVID-19 Isolation Procedure Update

According to information made available by superintendent Bret Trotta and information made available on the school district website, Riverside Beaver County School District has issued a COVID-19 Isolation Procedure Update. In a statement made available by Trotta, he advises the district held a school board meeting to revisit our Health and Safety Plan on Friday. Mask will remain optional; however, we highly recommend using face-coverings. Club Hope Foundation Receives $800.00 Donation

On December 16th, 2021 Mayor Anthony J. Court and Officers from Ellwood City Police Department presented Cara Atkinson, the founder of Club Hope, with $800.00. The money was donated to the Officers for their participation in “No Shave November”. Officers are hoping to make “No Shave November” an annual event so that they are able to raise money for Club Hope Foundation. TERRORISTIC THREATS: On December 1st, 2021, the New Castle Patrol Unit was dispatched to Mohawk School Road in North Beaver Township. Te incident occurred as the victim and the suspect were engaging in communication via social media SnapChat. Ellwood City Borough Council will consider approving a request by Sheetz, Inc. to have a Sheetz convenience store with self-serve sale of motor fuels at 5th Street/Glen Avenue during its regular meeting on Monday, December 20, at 6 p.m. Ellwood City Borough Council voted to approve the vacation of Locust Way from Fountain Avenue to Glen Avenue and Fountain Avenue from 5th Street to Locust Way on November 15.
