BodyShop Sets the TONE for Group Fitness

BodyShop Group Fitness, Ellwood City’s longest running fitness establishment, is excited to bring the newest group fitness class from Les Mills to the area.  The BodyShop, located in Creekside Commons at 324 Wampum Ave, is adding Les Mills TONE to their catalog of classes with a launch party on May 16, with two sessions: 5:30pm and 6:30pm. Riverside High School Junior/Senior Prom and After-Prom

Riverside High School will celebrate their Junior Senior prom on Friday, May 11. The prom will take place at Shakespeare’s following the coronation ceremony. Students also have the option to participate in the after prom festivities that will take place at Shakespeare’s from Midnight to 5 am. Parents, family and friends are invited to view the coronation of the prom king and prom queen in the auditorium. Tickets are available for purchase starting April 30, in room 208 of the high school. Ellwood City Residents Turn Properties Into Beautiful Landscapes

Mayor Court has announced that once again Ellwood City residents will turn their properties into beautiful landscapes, bring the neighborhoods back to life for everyone to enjoy. This will be the 8th year that Mayor Court will present “Beautification Awards” and restaurant certificates to six (6) area residents who are nominated for taking pride in their properties throughout Ellwood City. Residents are encouraged to participate, by both beautifying your properties or by nominating someone you feel does a great job in making their property stand out in the neighborhood. Activities taking place at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following: Wednesday, May 9, at 10:00 a.m. — “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. “Coloring for Adults” is a program designed to help reduce the stresses of everyday life. Group Discusses House Bill 2030 at Town Hall Meeting

A group of concerned residents in Ellwood City met for a Town Hall meeting Thursday night at the Municipal Building, to present facts about House Bill 2030. Mary Ann Viccari, who served 40 years in borough administration, presented a PowerPoint at the town hall meeting that focused on facts about HB 2030. The meeting primarily focused on what would happen if HB 2030 did pass and how it would affect the community and jobs within it. Merritt Greene came here in 1889 to serve as the general manager and purchasing agent of the “future resort town” being promoted by Henry W. Hartman, and the Pittsburg Company.  The next year his wife and son moved here to be with him.  They first rented the former Pettit home, then bought it and had it moved across the street.  It was located…


New Dimension Comics Hosts 3 Rivers Comicon For 3rd Year!

Featuring comic book vendors, publishers, and over 100 artists, 3 Rivers Comicon returns to West Mifflin.  The convention will take place Saturday and Sunday, May 19 and 20, 2018. Ellwood City Yard Waste Pick Up

Yard waste pick up for Ellwood City is scheduled for the week of May 13. According to the Ellwood City Borough: YARD WASTE PICK UP: Green borough yard waste bins are also available for residents to dispose of their simple yard waste. Yard waste bins are available for purchase for $53.00 and can be purchased at the borough utility office or by calling 724-758-5576. Yard waste bins are collected on specified weeks throughout the calendar years. Dates are also provided on borough utility bills. If a resident has extra yard waste that does not fit into a container, it is recommended that they bundle…


2018 Lincoln High School Prom “Written in the Stars”

The 2018 Lincoln High School Prom “Written in the Stars” will be held on Friday May 4th, 2018 at the Scottish Rite Cathedral, New Castle Pa. The annual Lincoln High School promenade will begin at 5:30. Doors open at 5:00 and tickets can be purchased at the door or in the High School Office. Ticket’s for this years promenade are $3.00 a piece and seating is first come first serve. Following the Promenade students will enjoy dinner and dancing at Scottish Rite Cathedral from 6:00 – 11:00 before returning to the SOI in Ellwood City for the traditional After Prom event….
