Club Hope Foundation Night at McDowell’s Inn

The Club Hope Foundation is holding an event at McDowell’s Inn on Saturday starting at 6 p.m. and running till 11 p.m. The Foundation will be guest bar tending and all tips will benefit Club Hope Foundation, which helps bring hope to patients and families in the area who are affected by a cancer diagnosis. Master Gardeners Host 3nd Annual Garden Tour

The Penn State Master Gardeners of Lawrence County are hosting their Third Annual Garden Tour on Sunday, July 22rd from Noon to 5:00 p.m. The tour highlights four area gardens, which can be toured at your own pace. Master Gardeners will be available at each location to answer questions. The tour will consist of four gardens within Lawrence County. The Altman Garden is located in New Wilmington includes 3 acres of hostas, daylilies, lilium, and daffodils. Pam Docherty’s gardens will be also on the tour located in New Castle. Jeff and Mary Sainato Wins Ellwood City 2018 Beautification Award

Mayor Court was honored to present the 5th 2018 Beautification Award on Saturday, to Jeff and Mary Sainato of Woodside Avenue. Along with a 2018 Beautification Award Winner sign, the Sainato’s received a gift certificate to a local restaurant. This is the 8th year for Mayor Court’s Beautification Award Program and it has been a huge success. There will be a total of 7 Winners in 2018, so if you know of someone that you feel should get this award, you can contact Mayor Court by phone, facebook or in person with your nomination.

Ellwood City Area Public Library Activities for Week of July 2

Activities taking place at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following: Monday, July 2, at 10:00 a.m. — “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. This program is usually held on Wednesdays, but will meet on Monday mornings instead during the summer months. “Coloring for Adults” is a program designed to help reduce the stresses of everyday life. Childrens Advocacy Center of Lawrence County Lego Party

The Childrens Advocacy Center of Lawrence County is holding a Lego Party on Saturday June 30. The event starts at 10:30 a.m. and ends at 12:30 p.m. at Cascade Park, Upper Level. Those attending will get free pizza, will be entered into a Pittsburgh Pirates ticket raffel and the first 200 kids get to take home a free Sebastian Gator lego set. Ellwood City Arts, Crafts and Food Festival: Behind the Scenes Part 4 of 4

Ellwood City Native Nominated as Pittsburgh’s 50 Finest

Each year the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Western PA selects 50 people to represent Pittsburgh while raising awareness through fundraising events  for Cystic Fibrosis. Pittsburgh’s 50 Finest is an accomplished group of 25 men and 25 women who show involvement in the community, dedication to charitable causes and success in their careers. Kelly Coccia Ellwood City native was nominated as one of Pittsburgh’s 50 finest. Coccia is a Lincoln High School and Point Park University graduate.
