BC3 Offers NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Courses This Summer

The Ellwood City area is filled with those who need help, support, assistance, guidance and above all encouragement. Weather it’s from a lost job, health problems,drug or alcohol, pregnancy, divorce or a host of other issues, people need love and hope. The concept is to bring a one-day festival to Ellwood City on Saturday August 25 from 10 am to 5 pm on Lawrence Ave between 4th street and 6th street and bring together agencies, both christian and secular who can provide that encouragement and help. PHOTOS: Annual Memorial Day Parade

Ninety-degree heat welcomed the hundreds of onlookers spread across town Monday morning during the annual Ellwood City Memorial Day Parade.  Youth organizations, marching bands, city and state officials, fire trucks, police cruisers, and other community members participated and marched in the parade honoring the men and women that died in military service for the United States of America. The parade took place across Ellwood City to Veterans Memorial Park where the closing ceremonies were held.  Members of the Ellwood City Civic Chorale performed at the conclusion of the ceremony.

Corona D’Italia Lodge #807 held their annual Mother- Daughter Scholarship Dinner on May 2, at the Wolverine Restaurant. Attendees were registered by Treasurer, Louis Vitullo, and her member daughter, Patty Kuhn. Trustee, Pudue La Cava directed seating of all guests and members. Orator, Valerie Valentino presented each arrival with a bouquet of wood fiber roses. Mistress of Ceremony, Mary Quintanilla, welcomed all and offered congratulations to all mothers, members and honored guests, the 2018 Corona D’Italia Memorial scholarship recipients. She recognized. Beaver Lawrence Railway Historical Society is held their semi-annual Train Day Festival at West Pittsburgh Train Station Saturday, May 19. The event kicked off with a touch a truck event and there were other attractions like classic cars, a model railroad, tours of the restored caboose and the historic train station. There was local bakery serving mouth watering sweet rolls, and a local restaurant set up serving hot sandwiches, a southern BBQ master grilling and a Greek and Middle Eastern truck served though dinner. Be A Superhero Relay For Life -Saturday, June 2, 2018, 1:00 – 10:00 P.M.
