Ellwood City Library Activities For The Week Of October7

The Ellwood City Area Public Library offers a variety of weekly activities.  Information is available by calling the library at 724-758-6458. Activities taking place this week include TUESDAY, OCTOBER 8 10:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. – “Family Laptime,” designed for babies as young as 6 months of age, toddlers, and preschoolers. This is an interactive, family event and features stories, songs, games, finger plays and more. Registration is requested. Eastern European Genealogy Workshop Planned

An Eastern European Genealogy Workshop (Finding your roots through the partitions) will be held on October 24, 2109. The event will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Dietz-Sullivan Lecture Hall, Hoyt Science Resources Center at Westminster College. This event will be led by Andrew Henley of Pleasant Hill Historians and is hosted by Polish Americans of Lawrence County and Pleasant Hill Historians. Wayne Township Fall Cleanup Scheduled For October 12

Wayne Township will be conducting an annual fall clean up Saturday, October 12, 2019 from 8:00am until noon. A proof of residency will be required to participate.  There is a $10.00 charge per pickup truckload. The drop off location is the Wayne Township Building, located at 1418 Wampum Road, Ellwood City, PA 16117 Information for new residents or new participants to this service for taxpayers: A resident may fill a pickup truck with unwanted items (see exceptions below) and drive to the township building and follow instructions. The Women of Faith International, Inc. will be holding their 2nd annual dinner/outreach program this year. After a successful free Christmas dinner last year the group has planned this year’s dinner for December 25, 2019 beginning at 11:00 am. The event is scheduled to be held at First United Methodist Church, 416 Crescent Avenue, in Ellwood City and will held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Activities taking place this week include MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 30 THROUGH SATURDAY, OCTOBER 5 – The Library’s Annual Book Sale will take place. Hours are 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Friday; and 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Monday will also feature a bake sale. Penn State Master Gardeners of Lawrence County Host Terrarium Workshop

The Penn State Master Gardeners of Lawrence County will be hosting a Terrarium Workshop. Participants will learn how to make a terrarium with step-by-step instructions from the Master Gardeners. The cost of the workshop is $15, which includes all materials needed. This will be held Tuesday September 24th at 6:00 pm located at the New Castle Public Library 207 E North St New Castle, Pa 16101. Ellwood City’s Fearscapes Haunted Attraction a Menacing Maze

Need a little fear in your life? You don’t have to leave Ellwood City to find it. FearScapes Haunted Attraction located in the old Snyder Factory, 1503 Brentwood Avenue, has plenty of fright up its sleeve.
