The 23rd Annual Community Easter Egg Hunt is this Saturday, March 23. The event will be held in the tennis court area of Ewing Park and starts at 11 a.m. All children 9 and under are welcome. Over 5,000 eggs along with 25 golden eggs will be distributed throughout the five hunts. Treats will be given out to each child after their hunts. New Castle- Over 400 free prom dresses are available to Lawrence County students in a giveaway this weekend at Feed My Sheep Outreach Ministries on 540 E Long Ave. This is the second prom dress giveaway in what is planned to be an annual event. Last year, nearly 200 dresses were given to high school students who may not have been able to afford their own. Dresses range in size from 0 to 28. For the second straight spring season, the Riverside Area Youth Soccer League (RAYSL) has set an enrollment record. Spring 2016 enrollment in the U10 – U19 (Travel) age groups totaled 158 players, up from 144 in 2015, 117 in 2014 and 105 in 2013. RAYSL also saw their U6 & U8 registrations grow to 104 players this season, representing a five-year high. 158 travel players and 262 players overall both represent 10-year highs for the program. “The best part about this season’s enrollment is that a record in one age group isn’t coming at the expense of another,” club secretary…

The Ellwood City Municipal Woman’s Club spring fashion show is set for April 21 at Shakespeare’s Restaurant. About 200 women are expected to attend. Fashions will be provided by Spoiled Chics from Sewickley and Venezie Sporting Goods from Ellwood City, while a jewelry raffle will be provided by Blocher Jewelers from Franklin Township Plaza. Proceeds raised go to the Club’s scholarship fund. Each May, the club awards two $1,000 scholarships. One is awarded to a Lincoln High School senior and one to a Riverside High School senior. Patrick Hornqvist and Beau Bennett will be signing autographs and taking pictures at a charity event in Chippewa for Kyree’s Dream Team and The Mario Lemieux Foundation.
