Lincoln High School will be hosting the 37th annual Lawrence County Marching Band Festival on Wednesday September 21 at 7p.m., doors open at 5:30p.m. The following school bands will be participating in the event: Lincoln, Shenango, Mohawk, Union, Neshannock, Laurel, Wilmington, New Castle, and Westminster College; each band will be performing samples of their half time shows. Lincoln High School Blue Band Boosters will be selling concessions and having a bake sale. You can send candy grams for $3.00 or cookie grams for $2.00 to your favorite band member. The 15th annual Story Telling Festival, brought to you by Ellwood City Public Library and supporting sponsors, will be hosted in Ewing Park on September 17 from 4p.m. to 7:30p.m. The storytelling stage will feature talented performances from Jocelyn Dabney, Mike Kennelly, Bill Pate, Michael Perry and Joanna Demarest. Performances will be followed by 15 minute intermissions, a perfect time to enjoy free activities like horse drawn trolley rides, face painting, strolling minstrels and balloon art. Ellwood City’s Halloween parade will be held on October 29, 2016 @ 3:30 and Trick or Treat in Ellwood City is Monday, October 31, 2016 from 6p.m. to 8p.m. throughout the Borough.

On Saturday, September 24 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds you can take appliances, batteries, fluorescent lights, shoes, and tires to be recycled. Household hazardous waste and electronics can also be recycled but registration for these items is required. To register call ECS&R at 866-815-0016. The spring clean up program will be held on Saturday, September 17, from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. The drop off will be at 1200 Factory Avenue. Procedure: Residents who wish to dispose of their items are to provide our Utility Billing Office with a copy of their electric bill or driver’s license for identification (or an authorized Government ID for non-drivers).  The individual will then be given a numbered tag for $5.00 entitling the recipient to drop off up to one (1) pickup-sized truck/car load at the site.  The tag will be collected at the site located inside the…
