Activities at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following: Tuesday, October 25, at 10:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. — Family Laptime, an interactive program designed for babies as young as 6 months old and preschoolers up to 5 years old. The synopsis of the play: Sometime in the 19th century, in the small Ukrainian village of Kulyenchikov, we meet Leon Tolchinsky- a freshly minted young school teacher who has come to Kulyenchikov to teach the daughter of the local doctor. Orthodox Study Group at St. Elias Church to Start October 22

St. Elias Orthodox Church will be holding a weekly Orthodox Spirituality Study Group every Saturday at 5 pm, starting October 22. Discussions will be based on the book The Mountain of Silence: A Search for Orthodox Spirituality by Kyriacos Markides. In this book, the author presents conversations, reflections, and personal dialogue, plus history and travel information that explore the Orthodox spiritual tradition. Copies of the book will be available at the first session. An informal pot-luck soup supper will be served during the sessions, followed by Vespers at 7 pm in the church. All are welcome! Under the Sea Extravaganza

The cast of the upcoming Lincoln High School’s The Little Mermaid will be presenting an Under the Sea Extravaganza on 10/22/16 from 2-5p.m. at the high school cafeteria. The Under the Sea Extravaganza is designed specifically to raise money for the production of The Little Mermaid musical. A musical is produced annually in the fall by the music dept staff at Lincoln High School -the school district does not provide funds for the musical production so all the fundraising is all done by the cast. Local Church Holds Live Auction and Pasta Dinner to Raise Scholarship Funds

ELLWOOD CITY, PA (Oct. 11, 2016) — North Sewickley Presbyterian Church, located at 106 Chapel Drive in North Sewickley Township, will host a pasta dinner and live auction fundraiser on Saturday, October 22, at 6 p.m., in their downstairs fellowship hall. The church is located across from Old Stonewall Golf Course and Shakespeare’s Restaurant. All proceeds will benefit the scholarship fund for the church’s annual family retreat.
