Local Program Lets Kids be “Veterinarian for a Day”

On Tuesday, June 14, 2016, 34 area children attended Jr Vet Day Camp at the Ellwood Animal Hospital in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania. This session was dedicated to learning how to be a “Pet Detective.” Animal diagnostic methods and treatments were demonstrated. For the last 12 years, Dr. Cynthia Maro and the staff of the Ellwood and Chippewa Animal Hospitals and Cranberry Holistic Pet Care have offered local kids a unique, behind the scenes experience at life in a veterinary clinic. Mayor Presents Second Beautification Award

On Wednesday, Mayor Anthony J. Court presented to Nicole and John McClaren of Evans Drive the second 2016 Beautification Award and gift certificate. The McClaren’s were very appreciative for the nomination of their home for this award, and Mayor Court thanked them for taking pride in their home and in their hometown of Ellwood City.    


Gibbons to Host Free Shredding Event this Saturday

BEAVER FALLS, June 14 – State Rep. Jaret Gibbons, D-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence, is hosting a free shredding event for the community to destroy unneeded confidential documents. Color Center Hosts “Father’s Day Decoupage”

In need of a Father’s Day gift? Register for Color Center’s “Father’s Day Decoupage,” and transform three wooden blocks into a timeless 3D collage. The event will be held Saturday, June 18 from 10 a.m. to noon. To participate, register at the Color Center by June 15. The cost is $15. Guests are asked to submit 9-12 pictures (recommended at least three pictures per block). Pictures will be copied, resized and edited to give an aged appearance.
