Kyree’s Dream Team “Eat at Pizza Joe’s” Fundraiser

Pizza Joe’s in Ellwood is hosting another benefit for Kyree Beachem, a 10 year old multi-organ transplant receiver. After suffering with Hirschsprung’s disease her whole life, 10-year-old Kyree remains positive, hopeful, and inspirational. Following a failed organ transplant in 2010, Beachem had recieved a second transplant in November of 2015. As with many organ transplant receivers, Beachem’s body rejected the first organ transplant – causing it to fail, and now her body has started to reject the second donor organs she received. She has been administered medication to fight the rejection while doctors are doing biopsies on the affected tissue….

Ellwood City Area Public Library Activities for Weeks of December 19 and December 26, 2016

Ellwood City Parade Committee Thanks Community for Participation

The Ellwood City Parade Committee would like to thank everyone who participated, attended, and helped make this year’s Halloween and Christmas parades a success. The parades were funded by the following donors: Ellwood City Wolves Club, Ellwood City Lions Club, Courtyard Catering, Beth Hazen, Ellwood City Elementary PTO, Municipal Woman’s Club, Corona D’Italia Lodge, R. W. Powell, Inc., Chris Kobbe, Michael and Janice Loccisano, Dinosaur Studios, and Dorosh Documentaries. Christmas Cookie Walk

This Saturday, Katy’s Bakery will be hosting their Christmas Cookie Walk at Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church Social Hall starting at 1p.m. Partakers will be given a bucket to fill with an assortment of homemade cookies. Cookies will be priced per pound.

Outdoor Nativity Program

The Chewton Christian Church will have its annual Outdoor Nativity Program on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 6:30p.m. The Christmas story will be portrayed by children. Music will be provided by the Anderson Family (Echo Valley). Refreshments will be served in the church social hall following the program.
