WXED- Ellwood’s very own local radio station, is excited to be part of the following events and encourages everyone of all ages to attend: Tomorrow: Free parking lot dance party, hosted by Dayspring Harvest Ministries/WXED Radio Station from  6-9 p.m. at 316 6th Street. Food and drinks will be provided, donations will be accepted. Ellwood City’s Area Public Library Activities for the Week of September 5

Activities taking place at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following: The library will be closed on Monday, September 5, in observance of the Labor Day holiday. The Ellwood City Arts, Crafts, Food and Entertainment committee held their wrap-up meeting for the 2016 Festival on Wednesday, August 24. The Festival Nominating Committee is accepting letters of application for the positions of Festival Chairperson and Vice Chairperson. Join the Crop Hunger Walk: September 25, 2016.

The second annual Crop Hunger Walk will take place on September 25, 2016 at 2pm in Ewing Park. According to the organizations website, Crop Hunger Walk has been around for nearly half a century and it has been helping to end hunger by raising funds to support local food programs and the international anti-hunger work of Church World Service. They’ve donated their assistance not only to families all across America, but they’ve helped provide for other countries like Nicaragua and Indonesia. Hidden Gem Photography Grand Opening

Rebecca Dembach is the visionary behind Hidden Gem Photography, located at 314 5th Street in Ellwood. Though she has been doing professional photography for years, she just recently decided to open up her own photography studio. Rebecca graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Ganon University in 2014. She used to work for a TV station as a video editor and graphic designer, and she also did promotions for a radio station; however, her heart was set around owning her own business, mainly centered around photography but also offering her skills in graphic design and video creating/editing. Spaghetti Dinner and Raffle to Benefit Brooke Moffat

On July 13th, 2016, 10 year old Brooke Moffatt was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Brooke’s parents, Darren and Lynn, are asking the community to support Brooke by attending Brooke’s Benefit Dinner hosted at the Wurtemburg-Perry Volunteer Fire Department on September 10, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m, and by entering the “Fiesta” Raffle. Tickets for the dinner are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children 10 and under. At the dinner there will be a 50/50, Chinese auction, and more.
