Wampum Readies for the Holidays

Starting December 1st, Wampum is the place to be for Christmas ambiance. An old fashioned celebration, Wampum ‘Light Up the Town’ takes place on Thursday December 1st followed 2 days later by the traditional Wampum Christmas Parade. Winners of the 2016 Costume Contest Receive Prize

Our contest photo gallery reached over 17,000 views on Facebook alone! Thank you for everyone who participated in the contest. The winners, Braxton Hogue, 1, son of Doug and Hannah Hogue and Anthony Barberio, 8, son of Matt and Chrissy Barberio, were each awarded $50.00 cash for their winning costumes. Painting Class at Lincoln High

A public painting class will be held at Lincoln High School in Room T on November 20 from 1-5p.m. Ages 14+ are encouraged to attend, the cost is $50.00 per person which includes a lesson, paint, brushes, and a canvas. No experience necessary.


Ellwood City Area Public Library Activities for Week of November 14, 2016

Activities taking place at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following: Monday, November 14, at 6:30 p.m. – Classics Book Discussion Group for Adults. Riverside High School Softball Team Fundraising Breakfast

Riverside High School Softball Team Fundraising Breakfast will be held next Saturday, November 12, from 8a.m. to 11a.m. at Lillyville Church Lighthouse in Franklin Township. Cost is $8 for adults, $5 for veterans since it is Veteran’s Day weekend, children are $5. There will be pictures with Santa and activities for children, residents can meet the new coaching staff, the varsity players will be helping serve food and clean tables. As of current, the raffle will include a chance to win either a lottery basket, Penguin Basket, Steeler Basket or Riverside Basket. Offical flyer below.

Star Wars Event

The Ellwood City Public Library is having their Star Wars Event on Sat. Nov. 12 from 1p.m.-3p.m at their library location. The 501st Legion will be providing 12 costumed characters. They do a short program first, including a trivia contest and then will pose for pictures with the kids or adults in attendance afterwards. Two years ago the library had them come for the library’s 100th Birthday which drew a crowd of over 100 people. Christmas Angels Toy Drive
