Ellwood City Sports Physicals To Be Held On June 13th

According to information made available by the district, Ellwood City Sports Physicals for the 2024-25 school year will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at the High School Nurse’s office. Any student in grades 7-12 that are interested must pre-register in the Principal’s office by Wednesday. Forms must be completed and payment must be made before an appointment time is given. Cost of the Physical is $20.00.  This is the only date that physicals will be offered by the school. PHOTOS: North Side Primary 2nd Grade Entrepreneurs Day

The North Side Primary school hosted a Lemonade Stand that was run by 2nd Grade Entrepreneurs last week. As part of the educational day, five different stations helped all students learned how to work for themselves. Students were able to practice and demonstrate soft skills such as communicating, collaborating, co-operation, being adaptable, time management and other interpersonal skills according to Debbie Weich, North Side Primary School counselor. The Lincoln High School graduating class of 2024 will receive their diplomas on June 6th at 7:00 p.m. at the Sgt. Leslie H. Sabo Jr. Memorial Auditorium. Ellwood City Wolves Host Annual Scholarship Dinner

The Ellwood City Wolves Club Den II hosted their annual Scholarship Dinner on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at the Connequenessing Country Club. The club provides 9 scholarships a year ($16,000) to graduating seniors from Lincoln and Riverside high schools and to two community college students. The Wolves Club members, guests, school guidance counselors, community college representatives and Scholarship winners were greeted by Scholarship Committee Chairman John DiBuono.  Dennis Boariu served as Master of Ceremonies. CCBC Announces President’s And Dean’s List For Spring 2024 Semester

Monaca  – Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) is proud to release 25 names of full-time and part-time Lawrence County students who achieved either President’s List or Dean’s List honors for the spring 2024 semester. Historical Society Recognizes Excellence In Local Education

When the Ellwood City Area Historical Society Board adopted the topic for this year’s Robert and Janice Barensfeld Scholarship Essay, “Write About a Prominent Person in Ellwood City,” they expected to get papers on familiar names like Hartman, Steifel, or Schill. However, when Everett Bleakney’s Scholarship Committee received the entries, the members were surprised and elated to get five essays on living people and two on recently deceased residents rather than the older historical figures. ECASD’s Board of Directors Votes Down Motion to Suspend Nepotism Policy

The Ellwood City Area School District’s Board of Directors voted down a motion to suspend Board Policy 304.2 Nepotism for the hiring of a Building Clerk at Perry Lower Intermediate during its May 9 Regular Meeting. “Yes” votes came from Directors Jean Biehls, Dr. Claire Fauzey, and Director Robyn Nicklas. Record 15 Riv-Ell Students Pitch Business Plans

A record 15 high school seniors profiting from a yearlong Riv-Ell Entrepreneurship Program pitched business plans April 25 that impressed Ellwood City area leaders and in pursuit of graduating from Butler County Community College on May 15 with a 16-credit workplace certificate funded by donors. The 11 Lincoln and four Riverside seniors in 2023-2024 represent the largest group to seek the post-secondary credential in a 6-year-old program that combines academic coursework with practical experiences.
