In a notice made available by the Ellwood City Area School District this week, the School Board of Directors has announced two upcoming meetings. The Board of Directors has scheduled a Special Meeting on Saturday, February 26, 2022 beginning at 9:00 a.m. The meeting is scheduled for the purpose of authorizing the administration to advertise for bids for the Helling Stadium Project and any other general business purposes that may come before the Board. ECASD Board of Directors Enacts Policy for Booster Organizations

The Ellwood City Area School District’s Board of Directors voted to enact policy 915 Parent/Guardian Booster/Support Organizations Thursday evening. Policy 915 is as follows: The Board recognizes the need for and the role of parent/guardian or community-based booster organizations to support the District’s academic, athletic and extracurricular activities. The Board also desires that all parent/guardian and booster organizations work together cooperatively for the best interests of students. ECASD Board of Directors Hires Track Coaches

The Ellwood City Area School District’s Board of Directors hired Alan Marsh and Nathan Brown to serve as co-head varsity track coaches during its February 10 meeting. Historically, the track team had one head coach and four assistant coaches. BC3 Announces President’s List, Dean’s List and Graduates for Fall 2021

Butler County Community College is proud to announce the names of students who have made the President’s List and Dean’s List for the Fall 2021 semester, as well as the names of those who have graduated recently. Students who have achieved a cumulative GPA (grade-point average) of 3.75 or higher are named to the President’s List following completion of at least 12 semester hours or upon completion of degree requirements. Ellwood City Area Historical Society Offering Scholarship Opportunities

The annual Ellwood City Area Historical Society Scholarship submission is quickly approaching. The deadline is Thursday April 7, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. The Ellwood City Area Historical Society will award two $1,500.00 scholarships to two (2) graduating seniors. Graduating seniors from Lincoln High School and Riverside High School who have been accepted to attend a college, Trade School or Performing Arts are eligible. Riverside Beaver Co School District Set To Begin 2022-23 Scheduling

Monday marks the beginning of the scheduling process for the 2022-23 school year at Riverside High School. According to a post on the district website, Monday, January 24 through February 4 starts scheduling presentations for grades 8-11 with a move up day scheduled in June. ECASD Public Meeting Notice Change

According to information made available by the district, the Ellwood City Area Board of Directors has changed the location of their Regular Board Meeting scheduled on March 10, 2022. The meeting will now take place at the Lawrence County Career and Technical Center (LCCTC) located at 750 Phelps Way, New Castle, PA 16101. Portersville Mother Among First Students Accepted In A New BC3 Program

A 44-year-old native of the Philippines who in 2007 suspended her pursuit of higher education in health care at Butler County Community College following the birth of her special-needs daughter is among the first students accepted in a BC3 practical nursing program that debuted Tuesday. Yeng Carle, of Portersville, is the most senior of 10 students in BC3’s latest selective-admissions health care program.
