Dimeo, Swogger Among Guests At Ellwood City Wolves Club Meeting

The Ellwood City Wolves Club Den II met on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at their Shelter in Ewing Park. President Mike DeOtto opened the meeting introducing guests Jackie Dimeo and Kevin Swogger. Mrs Dimeo is the President of the Divine Grace Parish Christian Mothers. The Christian Mothers have worked with the Wolves Club Ash Wednesday Fish Fry’s and Golf Bash for many years. The Wolves Club provided a donation of $2500 from the Golf Bash Fund Raising efforts in honor of their continued help and support and to assist in their efforts to start a scholarship program of their own….

3rd Beautification Award Winner Announced

Mayor Anthony J. Court presented the 3rd Beautification Award of 2023 to Nick and Kathy Curcio of 310 Petain Street. This is the home that Kathy grew up in and she still takes a lot of pride in maintaining their property. “Congratulations, Nick and Kathy, and keep up the good work,” said Mayor Court in a statement. Borough Receives Pennsylvania Day Grant In Support of Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful

To support community improvement and engage volunteers, the Borough of Ellwood City announced today it is the recipient of a $2,000.00 2023 National Pennsylvania Day Mini Grant from America250PA and EQT Corporation, in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and in support of Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful. The grant funds will be utilized to assist with costs to replace planter boxes along Lawrence Avenue, the town’s main street. “We are thrilled to be the recipient of the America250PA grant funding. Festival Entertainment Part Two: Little Miss Firecracker Pageant to Feature 11 Local Little Ladies

Folino stage is about to “Explode” with charisma and charm as eleven little ladies take the stage for the 6th Annual Little Miss Firecracker pageant. The festivities begin at 11:15 a.m. on Friday June 30th during the Ellwood City Arts, Crafts, Food & Entertainment Festival. The 3rd Annual Dog Days of Summer, which is sponsored by Reeds Services, and benefits police K9s took place on Saturday and Sunday in Ewing Park. Forces having K9s is a dying program because of the lack of funding available according to Chad Reed of Reed’s Services. Reed has said that as pet lovers and advocates of community safety, he is dedicated to continuing this program into the future.
