Senator Vogel to Host Veterans’ Specialist at District Offices

Senator Vogel announced today that he will host a veterans’ specialist in both his Rochester and New Castle District Offices to assist constituents with various issues related to their military service. Stephanie Bengoa of the American Legion Veterans Assistance Program will be available, beginning in July, on the third Wednesday of each month at Senator Vogel’s New Castle Office (1905 W. The 80th Reino Family Reunion the Granddady of them All

On July 2-4, 200 descendants of Guiseppe and Archangela Torre Reina, to the fifth generation, celebrated the 80th Reino Family Reunion at the Emily Cortez Shelter on Bridge Street. Established in 1936, the Reino Family Reunion has continued non-stop through war, sickness and death of family members. The descendants recognized four family members from the 1936 first reunion, Mary Louise Valvano Tomeo, Lewis “Wally” Valvano, Louis “Butch” Sudano and Rosanna Sudano Sciote. Borough Of Ellwood City Borough Requests Electric Customers to Voluntarily Reduce Energy Consumption this Tuesday, July 5 through Wednesday, July 6

As temperatures are expected to reach well into the upper 80s in the next few days, Ellwood City Borough electric customers are being asked to conserve power. Borough Officials said nothing is wrong with the electric grid; they’re just trying to take every avenue to reduce costs for customers. Gibbons Announces $296,188 in Grants for 10th Legislative District Improvements

HARRISBURG, July 1 – State Rep. Jaret Gibbons, D-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence, said the Commonwealth Financing Authority today approved $296,188 in grants to improve local parks and trails. It’s the most exciting time of the year in Ellwood City! The time that Ewing Park gets filled with tents, trailers, humans and food. Everybody in the Ellwood area should go to the festival! Undefeated 12U Ladies Capture Beaver/Lawrence County Championship with 7-0 Victory Over Beaver

The razor sharp 12u team traveled to Gaston Park in New Castle on Thursday evening and came away with a 7-0 win over Beaver to win the Beaver/Lawrence County Championship. The team finished the season with a record of 15-0. Angie Nardone was fabulous in the circle as she tossed a two hit shutout in the six inning affair. She fanned 10, walked two and only allowed one runner past second base. Six different batters contributed hits to the well balanced offense.
