2023 Halloween Costume Contest Winners Announced

Congratulations to the two, top place prize winners of the 2023 EllwoodCity.org Halloween Costume Contest!! The grand prize winner of the EllwoodCity.org contest was Easton and Enzo Gilmore, and our second place winner was 2-year-old Lincoln Lumley who dressed as Ronald McDonald. 2-year-old Easton and 11-month-old Enzo dressed as the Little Rascals and collected over 330 Likes to earn the first place cash prize. Riverside Lions Club Distributes School Supplies, Host Back To 50’s Lunch Fundraiser & Earns ‘Best In Class’ Award

The Riverside Lions Club has kept busy over the past several weeks, raising funds, distributing supplies, and earning a prestigious award according to King Lion Chip Campbell. The Club had the opportunity to distribute school supplies to five different schools in our area. Pictured below are Riverside Middle School Principal Alicia Dwyer, Lion Lynn Campbell, and Elementary school Principal Dr. Emily Smith. The club received these supplies through Project Homefront. POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

HUMAN REMAINS DISCOVERED: On November 14th at approximately 4:00 p .m., PA State Police responded to a wooded area adjacent to ST 422 in Pulaski Township, Lawrence County where human remains were discovered by a hunter. The remains have not been identified. The PA State Police continue to investigate. SIMPLE ASSAULT: Franklin Cesare-Hesse, 34, of Ellwood City, is accused of pointing a sawed-off shotgun at two juveniles and a male adult during a domestic dispute on November 12th. Holy Redeemer Holds Annual Memorial Mass & Tribute

On Sunday November 12th the Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church’s Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus Sacred Heart Council 11389 conducted its annual memorial Mass and commemorative tribute to their recently deceased members at Holy Redeemer Church in Ellwood City. Following Mass, breakfast, including a memorial program, was held in the Catholic Center honoring their lives. Both Frank Aloi, President of the Holy Name Society and Hank Glogowski, Grand Knight of the KOC extended a warm welcome to the 60 family members and friends in attendance at the memorial program. Riverside Lions Club Collecting Hygiene Products As Part Of Hygiene Helpers Program

The Riverside Lions Club will once again be collecting hygiene products as part of its Hygiene Helpers program. This is now the fifth year the Hygiene Helpers program will be at the Franklin Township Giant Eagle. The products collected are divided equally between the Riverside nurses and Divine Grace Social Services. The collection box is located by the first checkout counter, when shopping please consider making a donation. Wolves Club Presents Oktoberfest Donations

The Ellwood City Wolves Club Den 11 met on Wednesday, November 8th at the Connequenessing Country Club. During the meeting the recent Oktoberfest was reported on by Chairman Dennis Boariu. The Club provided a donation of $2,000.00 from the Oktoberfest proceeds to the Ellwood City Volunteer Fire Department for their Advance Life Support (ALS) Unit. The Wolves Club also provided donations from the Oktoberfest proceeds to the Ellwood City Lions and Ellwood City Rotary. Each club was represented at the Oktoberfest. Milestone Birthdays Celebrated

Celebrating their 85th and 90th birthdays this year, Dona and Don Boots, Sr. of North Sewickley Township attribute their good health and long lives to staying active and trusting in the Lord, thanking Him daily for His goodness over their lives. They met as teenagers in the Rustic Park area of North Sewickley township and have lived in the same area since their marriage in 1956, celebrating their 67th wedding anniversary this year.
