Ellwood Area Family Center Hosting Youth Baseball Clinic in February

The Ellwood Area Family Center will be hosting a youth baseball clinic in February. The goal is to enhance youth baseball in the community and will be open to players ages 10-12. The clinic will be run by Coach Jeff Fotia, former Ellwood City high school baseball coach who won multiple section titles and a PIAA state championship in 2003 and former players from the state championship team. The sessions will be held at the Ellwood Area Family Center on the North Side of Ellwood City on Mondays and Wednesdays beginning on February 16th.  The clinic will run for three…

Downtown Ellwood City was under the lens and captured on camera last month during the “Let There Be Lights” celebration along Lawrence Avenue. As part of the filming of a new segment for HGTV’s “The American Dream”, local realtor Katelyn Dominelli expresses her excitement, vision, and helps showcase the lifestyle, people, and heart of Ellwood City. Dominelli was contacted by show producers in November to help film and highlight the municipality.

Ellwood City Declares State of Emergency Due to Weather Conditions

Mayor Anthony J. Court along with the borough of Ellwood City has declared a state of emergency today January 26, 2026. Ellwood City and many surrounding communities received upwards of a foot of snowfall throughout the day Sunday and will be faced with bitter cold temperatures for the next week. In advance of the winter storm the borough provided residents with safety information including local warming centers. UPDATE: WINTER STORM 2026 – Borough Of Ellwood City Safety Information

With the approaching winter storm, the Borough of Ellwood City would like to reach out to all residents and provide some safety information. This is going to be a prolonged storm with snow starting to fall Saturday night and the heaviest amount of snow falling between 7am and 7pm on Sunday. The air is going to be a bitter cold without the wind chills. Temps with the wind chills will be between -10 and -15 degrees. Dress in layers if you need to be outside. ROUND BALL: Wolverines Clinch Playoff Berth; Riverside Downs Beaver Falls

Kaleb Servick and Aaron Lake combined for 46 points as Ellwood City easily dismissed New Brighton 81-50 on Friday night to clinch a WPIAL Class 3A playoff berth Servick poured in 18 first half points as the Wolverines held a 44-20 advantage at halftime. Servick knocked home a third quarter 3-pointer en route to his game-high 26-point effort. Lake finished with 21 rebounds (5 assists, 2 blocks) to go along with his 20 points. PHOTOS: Wolverines Knock Off Riverside 52-40

The Ellwood City boys basketball team used a well rounded scoring attack to knock off rival Riverside 52-40 on Tuesday at Lincoln High School. Three Wolverines reached double digits led by junior guard Kaleb Servick who scored a game-high 17 points.  Tyler Smiley finished with 11 points (two 3-pointers, four assists, five steals) and Aaron Lake scored 10 points in the victory.
