Borough of Ellwood City Announces 2026 Food Drive

The Borough of Ellwood City has announced its 2026 Borough-wide food drive to benefit the Divine Grace Food Pantry. The food drive will run from October 5th to November 9th, 2026. If you are interested in hosting a box in your business, please email rschnell@ellwoodcityborough.com. If you would like to donate items for the food pantry, there will be a box for donations at the Utility Billing Window in the Municipal Building. Below is a list of the most requested items per the food bank. Thank you for supporting our friends and neighbors through the Holiday Season!

Divine Grace Parish Set To Begin Free Community Lunch Weekly On Wednesday

Divine Grace Parish is offering a FREE Community Lunch every Wednesday beginning October 7th. All are welcome to fellowship and lunch at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Center lunchroom. Lunch will be served from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesdays – no charge. Four Wolverines Advance to WPIAL Individual Championships

The Ellwood City boys golf team continues to build on an impressive season, and four Wolverines have earned the opportunity to compete for a WPIAL Individual Championship at Oakmont CC. Anderson Weisz, Cameron Keller, Adam Jeffcoat and Gino Biondi successfully navigated Tuesday’s WPIAL Individual Championship qualifying round at South Hills Country Club, earning their spots in the championship round at Oakmont Country Club. 16th Annual Ellwood City Oktoberfest Is Saturday

The 16th Annual Ellwood City Oktoberfest will be held Saturday, October 3rd in Ewing Park, Ellwood City from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Rain or Shine). This is a joint fundraiser for The Ellwood City Wolves Club, Den II and The Rotary Club of Ellwood City. Combined, the clubs have over 180 years of community service to the Ellwood City and surrounding area. Trefoil Lodge Painted, Stiefel Park Field Renovated

Ellwood City has two beautiful parks, Ewing Park and Stiefel Park, and the Borough plans to keep these parks at their best. The borough recently landscaped and painted Trefoil Lodge at Ewing Park and renovated the Lil Angels field located at Stiefel Park. “These parks have not been given the attention they deserve. Not many communities have a swimming pool, tennis courts, basketball court, and multiple playing fields available for their pleasure and use. PHOTOS: Wolverines Soccer Defeats Riverside 3-0

Ellwood City boys soccer got their second win of the year on Friday afternoon, defeating rival Riverside 3-0 on the road at Riverside. Wesley Ketterer and Dom D’Addio put home goals for the Wolverines. It is believed to be the first victory on the pitch over Riverside in over three decades according to ECWolverines.com. The Wolverines soccer team (2-5-1 Overall) will next host Riverside in a rematch scheduled for October 1st at 6:30 p.m. at Helling Stadium.  The team snapped a 113-match winless streak earlier this month with a victory over South Side

Ellwood Area Family Center Set To Host Two Youth Basketball Clinics

The Ellwood Area Family Center will be hosting two youth basketball clinics beginning in mid October. The basketball sessions will be held at the Ellwood Area Family Center on the North Side of Ellwood City on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons beginning with the Age 5-8 on Tuesdays and Age 9-12 sessions held on Thursdays. The clinics will run four five consecutive weeks with the Age 5-6 session running from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, beginning October 13th. PHOTOS: 2026 Ellwood City Fall Festival and Car Cruise

The annual Ellwood City Fall Festival and Car Cruise kicked off the fall season Saturday in downtown Ellwood City. The Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce hosts one of the community’s largest and most anticipated events of the year and car enthusiasts bring their classic, custom, antique, muscle, and specialty vehicles to show. Over 60 vendors, four live bands, two DJs, children’s crafts and activities, delicious food, shopping, and entertainment adorned Lawrence Avenue. Event sponsors included: McElwain Chevrolet, Ellwood City Forge Group, NALCO, the May Emma Hoyt Foundation, and T&M Hardware.

Panthers Knock Off New Brighton 33-22, Wolverines Fall To Shady Side

Aiden Gaydosz accounted for three touchdowns and Montgomery Michael added two rushing touchdowns as Riverside defeated New Brighton 33-22 Friday night at Riverside Memorial Stadium. Gaydosz threw for 121 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown for the Panthers.
