Third Annual Beaver County Forensics Meet

The Third Annual Beaver County forensics meet was held at Riverside High School on Tuesday, March 28. Five school district participated in the competition that was offered to both junior high and senior high. Lawrence County’s Earth Day Celebration

Lawrence County’s Earth Day Celebration will feature more than 40 educational exhibits, plenty of exciting activities, great entertainment, horse-drawn trolley rides, and a Wild World of Animals show. The event is FREE and will be held on Saturday, April 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Ewing Park. The Lady Wolverines started the season off on the right foot with a 13-3 victory over the Union Scotties on Saturday. The game was halted after 5 innings due to the mercy rule. Anna Ferrucci led the 9 hit attack with 3 singles and 2 runs scored. Natalia Greco added two singles, 3 RBI’s and scored twice. Breonna Streit and Megan Siegfried contributed doubles. Wolverines Grab Lead in Seventh Inning for Victory Over Laurel

Ellwood City Wolverines took the lead late in the game in a 4-3 victory over Laurel on Friday. The game was tied at three with Ellwood City Wolverines batting in the top of the seventh when Mitch Fraser singled off of Will Shaffer, driving in the go-ahead run to finally overtake a Laurel team that took an early lead in the first inning. Ellwood City Track Teams Fall To Beaver

The Ellwood City boys and girls track teams were defeated by Beaver Area Friday afternoon.  For the girls, a strong showing in the 100m was put together by the trio of Avory Elchison, Mia DeCaria, and Alena Battaglia who swept the event for the Wolverines.  DeCaria also took first place in the high jump and long jump to spur the Wolverines. Wolverines Boys Tennis Falls To Beaver Area

Ellwood City boys tennis team fell to Beaver Area Thursday in high school tennis action at the Ewing Park Tennis Court. For the Wolverines, Trey Houk was able to collect a singles victory in straight sets over Bobcat Ross Huchko while the doubles team of Keegan Reisinger and Alex Vardzel was able to collect a first set victory in doubles action before falling in three sets. 12th Annual International Showcase Enjoyed at Riverside High School

On Tuesday, March 21, over 100 tenth grade World Cultures students with the support of 10 International Club students presented the Twelfth Annual International Showcase of Countries at Riverside High School. Following months of preparation, displays that showcased 33 nations of the world were opened to students in the Riverside district from grade K through 8. 30 Riverside classes with nearly 700 students toured the Showcase this year.
