With high school graduation around the corner, EllwoodCity.org is now taking graduate submissions to appear on our website. Submissions can be sent electronically to ecstaff@ellwoodcity.org or a hard copy can be filled out in the Color Center on Lawrence Avenue. Please remit a color photo with the information you provide: Graduate Name: Parents Name(s): Grandparent(s), Other(s): School District: Party Info (date, location, etc): Awards, Scholarships, Accolades: Fututre Scholastic Plans/Info (college/university, planned major, etc):   Lincoln High School’s graduation date is Thursday, June 1st and Riverside is Wednesday, May 31st, 2017.

Ellwood City Primary Election Results

The primary election results for Ellwood City and surrounding Lawrence County areas have been posted on Lawrence County’s official website. Republican incumbents, Connie MacDonald and David DeCaria lost to their challengers, running mates Rob Brough, John Cress, Brandon Fisher, and Lisa Guerrera, by over 100 votes. According to the site, Guerrera led the Republican party with 323 votes, Brough followed closely behind with 320, Cress with 305, and Fisher with 285. DeCaria finished with 173 votes – one more than MacDonald’s 172 votes. Democratic incumbent Michelle Lamenza lead the Democratic party with 335 votes – only five votes more than…

New Utility Bill Format, April Due Date Extended

According to information made available on Tuesday, the Borough of Ellwood City has extended the due date for the utility bills to May 26, 2017. Those customers who use auto bank draft will have their payments deducted on May 22, 2017. If customers, who have auto bank draft, and already paid their bill, their payment will be credited toward their next month’s utility bill. Open Street Event to Celebrate Phase One of Bike Route

Updated: 5/19 at 8am: The Ellwood City Kitchen Cabinet is excited to be hosting an Open Street Event in celebration of the completion of Ellwood City’s new bike route. After several Kitchen Cabinet members proposed and planned the bike route for well over a year, the first portion of the project is finally getting its finishing touches this week. “With the ongoing extensive planning and cooperation among the committee members, state, county and borough, the bike lanes are set to be painted on the road this week,” Dave McQuaid, one of the main committee members directing the project stated. Want to make a difference in the local community? Meals On Wheels is in search of drivers for the local Ellwood City area. Drivers would deliver once every 3 weeks from 10:15a.m. to 12:00p.m. Meals are picked up at the hospital. Volunteer hours can be used towards community service. To volunteer, call 724-752-9413

Paint The Town Purple Survivor Luncheon Sunday, June 4, 2017 2:00 – 5:00 P.M. Bernstine, Court Agree to Send Information to District Attorney Office

ELLWOOD CITY – In response to parking tickets that were issued at a legislative press conference on Thursday, May 11, state Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-New Beaver) and Ellwood City Mayor Anthony Court have jointly agreed to send documentation of the event to the Lawrence County District Attorney office, Bernstine announced today. Bernstine held a press conference in front of a private residence on Wampum Avenue to announce his legislation to better regulate municipal electric costs. Fine Arts Festival

On Tuesday, May 16, the public is invited to attend the inaugural spring Fine Arts Festival at Lincoln Junior-Senior High School. The show, which is free to the public, will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.  Student work will be on display through the first floor and library, and refreshments will be served in the cafeteria. Primary election for running candidates on both school board and council will be held tomorrow. There are four seats up for election on school board and council. Running for school board are incumbents Anthony Buzzelli, Kathy Pansera and Renee Pitrelli who will be running against newcomers Norm Boots, Kathy McCommons and Barbra Wilson.
