SPOILER ALERT: House Tour Home Features Dr. Seuss Christmas Tree

One of the Ellwood City Municipal Women House Tour homes, the Bissell household, located at 3302 River Road in Ellwood City, is the first home on the list to be decorated for the event. Though the family still has a few decorations to finish putting up, the majority of work has been completed. From flamboyant nutcrackers to a surfin’ Santa, home owner Teresa Bissell stated that her favorite decoration is the Dr. Seuss tree. 2017 Penn State Master Gardeners of Lawrence County Calendar Fundraiser

The Penn State Master Gardeners of Lawrence County are selling 2018 Calendars. Calendars are $10 and available for purchase at the Penn State Extension Office located at 430 Court Street (Courthouse) New Castle, Pa 16101 or by calling 724-654-8370. Calendars can also be mailed for a $5 fee. The calendar promotes our Master Gardener program, along with providing gardening tips throughout the year. The Penn State Master Gardener Program was established to assist Penn State Extension in reaching consumer horticulture audience. State Police: Holiday Safe Driving Enforcement Project

We are often told to be alert for drunk drivers on New Year’s Eve, but did you know that it’s the least likely holiday to experience a crash, with the Thanksgiving holiday ranking most likely in Pennsylvania? Bernstine Announces Safe Schools Grants for Laurel School District, Lawrence County Vo-Tech

Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence) today announced nearly $150,000 in Safe Schools Grants have been awarded to Laurel School District and Lawrence County Career and Technical Center. “Our students deserve to learn in an environment free from violence and crime,” Bernstine said. “The investments we make in academic programs mean nothing if our kids and teachers aren’t safe.
