According to information made available this morning, special hours this week have been announced by the tax office.
The Ellwood City Borough Tax Collector office will be open Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
The office of Tax Collector Mary Ann Portugallo is located in the Ellwood City Municipal Building on Lawrence Avenue. Information regarding residential, property, real estate, or other tax information can be collected at the tax office.

Why are there always different office hours for this week or that week? Why can’t there be standard hours? Whatever is decided should be adhered to. Taxpayers should not have to stop and think, “What are the hours THIS week?”
If a taxpayer wants to pay their taxes on March 29th for example, we should not have to stop and think, “Well maybe the hours are changed because two weeks ago it was this and last week it was that.”
