Beneigh Insurance has made its way into downtown Ellwood City this summer, taking over the old Wilson Insurance building, located on Sixth Street, in July. Performing Arts Conservatory opens in Sharon, PA

The Chrysalis Stage Advanced Performing Arts Conservatory for students in grades eight through 12 will emerge this fall in Sharon, Pa. Eastern Star Soup Supper This Weekend

The Eastern Star Soup Supper will be held  this weekend.  The event will be Friday, September 28th from 12:00 p.m to 6:30 p.m and is open to the public. The supper will be at Christ Presbyterian Church, located at 4th Street and Spring Avenue in Ellwood City, PA. Koppel Bridge Construction Continues, Currently Under Inspection

Construction is continuing on the $27.58 million Route 351 Koppel Bridge replacement project according to PA Department of Transportation Press Officer Steve Cowan. In addition, the current 102-year-old bridge will be under inspection through October 4th. Single-lane alternating traffic will occur from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays as crews from the Larson Design Group conduct bridge inspection activities. Historical Society To Plan ‘History on the Street’ Event

The Ellwood City Historical Society held a special meeting to prepare for the upcoming Ellwood City Fall Festival and Car Show. The Society decided to hold a display outside the History Center on Fifth Street. The event will be called, “History on the Street.”  Featured items will be the Ellwood Sign that has lighted the way for the Arts Crafts and Food festival for over 30 years. Goal Set For Hartman School Playground Renovation

Twenty years ago, the Hartman School Playground was built. The playground had been originally intended to be used by children with ages ranging from 5-12, however in 2011 the district was restructured and now the playground is used mostly by children in the ages of 10-12. “Our students thrive in their education when physical activity is maximized,” said Principle Frank Keally in an email to EllwoodCity.org staff. REMINDER: Wayne Township Fall Cleanup Scheduled For Oct. 13

Wayne Township is conducting its annual fall clean up Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 8:00am until noon. A proof of residency will be required to participate.  There is a $10.00 charge per p/u truckload (no limit). After rain and thunder caused multiple game delays, Ellwood City finally fell to Freedom 35-13 in their homecoming contest Friday night at a wet Helling Stadium.
