Saturday Summer Concert Series Set To Begin June 1st

This Saturday, June 1st, the Ellwood City Summer Concert Series returns in the Community Plaza! Come out and swing to the sounds of the 40’s and 50’s as the series kicks off with the Dante DiThomas Swing Band! The event is free to attend and will feature a 50/50 raffle. Guests are welcome to carry out food and drinks (including alcohol) from our local establishments to enjoy in the Community Plaza during the concert, but please note that BYOB is NOT permitted. Ellwood City Wolves Host Annual Scholarship Dinner

The Ellwood City Wolves Club Den II hosted their annual Scholarship Dinner on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at the Connequenessing Country Club. The club provides 9 scholarships a year ($16,000) to graduating seniors from Lincoln and Riverside high schools and to two community college students. The Wolves Club members, guests, school guidance counselors, community college representatives and Scholarship winners were greeted by Scholarship Committee Chairman John DiBuono.  Dennis Boariu served as Master of Ceremonies. Avonworth Dethrones Riverside In Epic WPIAL Championship

Avonworth dethroned the defending Class 3A champion Panthers Tuesday afternoon in extra innings at Wild Things Park in Washington, PA. The 7-seeded Antelopes scratched out a run in the top of the 14th inning and held on for the historic 4-3 victory. The WPIAL Championship game was the longest ever recorded at Wild Things Park and the longest game since 1940. The marathon game lasted over four hours. LHS Class Of 1989 Gathering For Informal Class Reunion

It has been 35 years! The Lincoln High School Class of 1989 will be getting together for an informal class reunion later this month. Classmates will gather starting at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 29th at The Time Brew Pub located at 600 Mount Vernon Drive. Classmates are asked to spread the word to any fellow classmates from the Class of 1989.

Mayor Court Announces 1st 2024 Beautification Award Winner

Mayor Anthony J. Court announced the 1st Beautification Award winner for 2024. Congratulations to Tim and Becky Marshall on 107 Glen Avenue! “It did not go unnoticed the hard work that was put into their beautiful yard,” said Court in an emailed statement. Tim and Becky was presented with a gift certificate to a local restaurant and a yard sign to display. CCBC Announces President’s And Dean’s List For Spring 2024 Semester

Monaca  – Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) is proud to release 25 names of full-time and part-time Lawrence County students who achieved either President’s List or Dean’s List honors for the spring 2024 semester. Nine Local Athletes Competing In PIAA Track & Field Championships

The relay team of Nick Wise, Bradley Custer, Drew Steffler, and Colten Crizer will be four of the six Ellwood City athletes competing in the PIAA Track & Field Championships this Friday and Saturday at the Seth Grove Stadium at Shippensburg University in Shippensburg, PA. The 4×800 Meter relay team will be joined by WPIAL 300m hurdle champion Nick Franitti and female high jumper Delaney Sturgeon.
