Ellwood City Man Dies In 2-Vehicle Crash In West Deer Township

An Ellwood City man died in a two-vehicle crash in West Deer on Monday morning. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man on Tuesday as Mark Tedrow, 35. The crash happened shortly after 10 a.m. in the 300 block of Deer Creek Valley Road. According to West Deer police Chief Jon Lape, Tedrow was driving a box truck south on Deer Creek Valley Road when just south of Tarentum-Culmerville Road he veered off the road for about 50 feet. Every 73 seconds, an American is sexually assaulted. April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and the Crisis Shelter of Lawrence County is aiming to shed light on the problem in hopes of changing the narrative that affects 1 in 3 females and 1 in 4 males according to the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention. Area School Districts Slated To Receive Nearly $40 Million To Keep Students Learning During Pandemic

Ellwood City and Riverside School Districts are among the area school districts expected to receive approximately $37.2 million in federal funding to ensure programs, services and safety measures are in place as more students return to the classroom announced by Governor Tom Wolf this week. The Ellwood City Area Historical Society would like to recognize the best athletes, past and present, who were born in Ellwood City area or who went to Lincoln or Riverside High Schools with a sports banquet later this year.
