Eric Ryan Corporation is offering to the Ellwood City community a complimentary audit of your home gas/electric bills. Keith Venezie, CEO of the Eric Ryan Corporation, a local utility and phone bill auditing company, noticed his home gas bill was higher than normal. Bernstine Appointed to Four Key Legislative Committees

HARRISBURG – Rep. Lions Club Joins Dollar General In Offering Hygiene Helpers Box

A local Lions Club has joined forces with a local Dollar General store to offer an initiative aimed to help provide hygiene products for those in need. Lions Clubs International District Governor, Chip Campbell, of the Riverside Lions and Christina Radich, General Manager of the Franklin Township Dollar General store, are pictured below standing with the Hygiene Helpers box located at the store. After pacing most of the game and leading 37-33 heading into the fourth quarter, Ellwood City could not manage a field goal and only two points – Steve Antuono free throws – in the final frame, letting the lead, and game, slip away in falling 47-39 to Neshannock. Ellwood City opened up their long-awaited regular season play Friday night and held leads after the first three quarters over the visiting Lancers, including a 25-19 halftime edge. ECASD to Transition to Hybrid Learning Model on January 25

Ellwood City Area School District will return to a hybrid model of learning starting January 25. The district’s board of directors voted unanimously Thursday evening to implement a hybrid model where students will attend school in person two days a week and will attend school virtually three. Directors Norman Boots and Jennifer Tomon were absent from the meeting. Until January 25, students will continue full-time virtual learning. Riverside Girls Basketball Ready To Ball With First-Year Head Coach

The Riverside Lady Panthers will travel to face Mohawk on Monday, January 11th before settling in to its first home game on Thursday, January 14th versus the Laurel Spartans.  The team will welcome the long overdue season and begin with new faces, players and coach, on the bench. “We lost a lot of scoring due to graduation, so we will need players to step up into the role of scoring production,” said first year head coach Renee Drake. Ellwood City Basketball Teams Set To Open Up Respective Seasons

After cancellations of tournaments and play in December due to COVID-19, the Wolverines boys and girls basketball teams will finally get a chance to hit the parque floors in January as schedules have been re-released.  Both teams will host home games to start the season, the boys will face Neshannock on Friday, January 8th while the girls open up with a home game on Monday, January 11th versus North Catholic. Bernstine Announces Funding for Police Body Cameras In New Brighton Borough

NEW BRIGHTON – Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Lawrence/Butler) today announced that New Brighton Borough will receive $15,610 in funding from a federal program that offers grants to purchase camera systems, data storage and other costs relating to implementation or expansion of body-worn camera (BWC) systems for law enforcement and corrections institutions in Pennsylvania.
