Annual Ellwood City Oktoberfest Returns October 4th

Conceived by Wolves Club member Matt Walley in 2010, the Annual Ellwood City Oktoberfest turns 15 years old this year. It started out as a fundraiser for the club with games, local brewers, craft beers and food. Donnie Iris, member of the 1970s band Jaggerz made an appearance in 2011 with samples of his beer King Cool Light. The event benefitted the Library, Christmas in the Park and Wolves Club Scholarships. In 2012, the Wolves Club built relationships with other service clubs in the area. Halftime Lead Evaporates, Wolverines Fall To Neshannock

Ellwood City entered halftime of Friday night’s non-section match-up against Neshannock up two touchdowns, but the visiting Lancers rallied and knocked off the Wolverines 26-20 at Helling Stadium. Ethan Beaman hauled in an 8-yard touchdown pass from Jino Mozzocio with only 13 seconds remaining in regulation to provide the decisive score. Lin Goes Low, Ellwood City Golf Knocks Off Riverside

Wolverine golfer Alex Lin fired a low round of 34 Thursday afternoon at Connoqunessing Country Club to lead the visiting Ellwood City boys golf team to a 191-222 victory over rival Riverside. Lin was among a cavalry of Ellwood City golfers who shot sub-40 in the victory. Jaxon Rozanski (35) and Jordan Keller (39) joined Lin with strong rounds for Ellwood City. Gino Biondi finished with a round of 41 and Nate Kennedy fired a round of 42 to round out the scoring for Ellwood City. Tony Chill shot a team-low round of 40 for Riverside in defeat. ECASD Transition to ABC Transit Experiencing Growing Pains

In a statement released by the Ellwood City Area School District on Thursday, the district is clear in acknowledging the transition to ABC Transit has had some early growing pains. The district contracted with ABC Transit for seven years beginning with the 2025-26 school year, effective July 1, 2025, and ending June 30, 2032, replacing EC Transit, which wished to end the school transportation side of its business. “We are grateful for the dedication and care shown by Ellwood City Transit, and we are confident that ABC Transit will carry forward that tradition with professionalism and care,” said Superintendent Amy…

The Riverside Panthers girls volleyball team knocked off rival Ellwood City 3-0 Tuesday afternoon at Riverside. The Panthers swept the match with 25-16, 25-20, and 25-13 set victories.
