Milling And Paving Lawrence Avenue To Begin On Monday

As part of the PennDOT SR351 project, Folino Construction will start milling and paving Lawrence Avenue and 5th Street on Monday, October 28, 2024. The topcoat will also be applied to Crescent Avenue in the coming days. Due to this project, parking on Lawrence Avenue and 5th Street will be prohibited for two weeks starting on Monday, October 28, 2024. “I appreciate your cooperation in advance,” says Kevin Swogger, Borough Manager. A roadway improvement project on Route 351 (Crescent Avenue) between Second Street and Fourth Street was completed earlier this summer.


Four Local XC Runners Qualify For PIAA State Championships

Four local cross country runners qualified for PIAA State Championships with their individual performances Thursday in the WPIAL Championships held at White Oak Park in McKeesport. Drew Steffler (9th, 16:20.70), Bradley Custer (13th, 16:34.90), and Lucas Bleakney (23rd, 16:50.60) helped pace the Ellwood City Wolverines team that finish 7th overall. All three runners will advance to Hershey, PA for the PIAA Championships to be held Friday, November 1st. Riverside Panther runner Devin Montileone (22nd, 16:49) also qualified for the PIAA Championships. Riverside School District Receives Public School Facility Improvement Grant

Riverside Beaver County School District received $350,000 for a roof repair, HVAC, and plumbing system project at the Riverside Beaver County Elementary/Middle School facility as part of PA Public School Facility Improvement Grant Program (PSFIG). The program provides grants to public school districts and area career and technical schools for eligible facility improvement projects. Bernstine Announces Funding for Improvement Project in Wampum Borough

Koppel Borough Celebrating Grand Opening Of New Park

Koppel Borough will be celebrating the grand opening of the Koppel Playground on Saturday, October 26th with an official ribbon cutting. “This playground will be the first playground that Koppel has had in a number of years,” said Koppel Mayor Athena Pangikas-Miller. Franklin Township to Get ALDI, Tractor Supply stores

If you haven’t heard … Franklin Township is getting an ALDI and a Tractor Supply. “At this time, Tractor Supply can confirm its plans to open a store in Ellwood City,” said Tricia Glenn an account executive for FINN Partners on behalf of Tractor Supply. “While currently in the permitting phase, if all moves on schedule, construction could start as early as the end of 2024.
