The Ellwood City Area School District is now accepting 2026-27 Kindergarten pre-registration. If you are planning to enroll your child in kindergarten this fall, please complete the form and return it to your child’s school as soon as possible. All prospective parents of the Ellwood City Area School District are eligible. Senator McCormick Tours North American Forgemasters and ELLWOOD Crankshaft & Machine

U.S. Senator Dave McCormick visited two leading regional manufacturers on Tuesday, touring North American Forgemasters (NAF) and ELLWOOD Crankshaft and Machine (ECM) in Hermitage to see firsthand the advanced industrial capabilities supporting U.S. energy, transportation, defense, and infrastructure. Ellwood City Names Sean McConahy As Next Football Head Coach

The Wolverines have their new head coach for its football program. Ellwood City hired Sean McConahy as its next head high school football coach during a special board meeting on Friday, February 20th. McConahy, a current science teacher at LHS, brings experience in the district, passion for football and conditioning, and coaching experience at one of more recent success stories in District 10 (Wilmington coaching staff). Braiden McClure Earns Runner-Up Mark In District AA Sectionals

Sophomore Braiden McClure finished runner-up in the 107-pound weight division at the District 7 AA Sectionals last weekend at Keystone Oaks High School. McClure opened up with a major decision victory before bowing out the in the finals to Angelo Boni of Central Valley. McClure now holds an individual match record of 22-7 this season. Gavin McClure pinned Jonah Hostutler of Keystone Oaks to earn a 3rd place finish in the 127-pound class. NARCOTICS AND FIREARM CHARGES: Daniel Feliciano, 49, pleaded guilty to six counts of violating federal narcotics and firearm laws on February 12, 2026. In connection with the guilty plea, the Court was advised that, between October 2022 and March 2024, Feliciano conspired with others to distribute cocaine throughout Western Pennsylvania, specifically in the New Castle area. In addition to the conspiracy charge, Feliciano pleaded guilty to distributing and/or possessing with intent to distribute quantities of cocaine on three different dates, as well as possessing a firearm as a convicted felon and in furtherance of his drug trafficking crimes. During February’s meeting of the Ellwood City Area Historical Society, the gathered 35 members and guests were treated to a presentation on some local history that began just after the end of the Civil War. Ellwood City Borough Council Still Seeking Borough Manager Candidates

Ellwood City Borough Council announced the end of the Emergency Declaration enacted on January 26, 2026, by the Mayor of Ellwood City, Anthony Court, during Monday’s regular council meeting. Brad Ovial, president of council, spoke on behalf of Court stating that the emergency declaration has officially ended. Ovial also praised various public works and public safety officials who worked endlessly providing services to the public.
