Santa Claus Coming To Franklin Township On Saturday

Mother Nature and Santa Claus didn’t coordinate last Saturday and it looks like this Sunday will be rainy. Not a good day for a visit. Be advised, according to information made available by the township, Santa has decided that this SATURDAY, DECEMBER 23RD will be better to visit all the residents of the township. Santa Claus will be escorted by the Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department to see all of the good girls and boys this holiday weekend. The route will begin in Tomicia Springs at noon. North Side Students Give Back to Ellwood City Community

North Side Primary Students and Staff welcomed many Community Members and Partners to our school on Monday, December 18th. During the month of December, students are learning how good it makes all of us feel to GIVE. The students put this into practice when each classroom made a very special, giant sized Holiday Card thanking the local community agency and partner for the services they provide Ellwood City. Williams Accepts Softball Scholarship With Fairmont State University

Last week, Riverside senior shortstop Mia Williams signed to continue her athletic career at Fairmont State University. Williams has started and lettered the past three years of varsity softball and has been named the Beaver County Times Athlete of the Week. As a junior, Williams doubled and collected three RBIs to help lead the Lady Panthers to the quarterfinals of the WPIAL Playoffs for the first since 2013. Williams is going to study nursing at Fairmont State University. Boy Scouts Troop 806 Sharing The Peace Light This Week

The Boy Scouts in Troop 806 will be sharing the Peace Light this week on Monday and Tuesday evening. The Peace Light is a continuously-burning flame originating from lil lamps that have burned over 1,000 years in the Grotto of the Nativity, where Jesus was born. The flame is carried from Bethlehem by an Austrian scout during Advent and is passed from person-to-person by scouting organizations around the world. Ellwood City Wolves Club Den Celebrates Christmas

The Ellwood City Wolves Club Den II celebrated Christmas at the Connequenessing Country Club on Wednesday December 13. A buffet dinner of beef, chicken marsala. Shrimp linguine, corn zucchini blend, potatoes was enjoyed by 56 members, guests, wives and significant others. Santa Claus arrived and distributed candy, poinsettia’s and wine to some lucky guests. 10 BC3 Students Receive Department Of Defense-Funded Financial Awards

Steven Pander and Ralph Mulneix, both of Portersville, were among ten Butler County Community College students who received $7,500 this fall in programs that emphasize cybersecurity education and that have collectively grown in enrollment by 32 percent since January. The distribution of financial awards through the use of a U.S. Department of Defense grant brings to at least $32,287 the amount BC3 has provided in 2023 to students in four associate degree career programs and in one associate degree transfer program within its business and information technology division. Legislators Must End Funding Delay for Community Colleges
