Bernstine Co-Hosts Town Hall Meeting on Property Tax Elimination

HARRISBURG – Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Butler/Lawrence) will join Reps. Jeremy Shaffer (R-Allegheny) and Roman Kozak (R-Beaver) to host a town hall on property tax elimination. Council Establishes Stop Intersection on College Street at First Avenue

Ellwood City Borough Council voted 4-2 to establish a stop intersection on College Street at First Avenue (northbound and southbound). “No” votes came from Councilman George Celli and Councilwoman Jan Williams. Councilman Caleb Cragle was absent from the meeting. Before the vote, Borough Resident Robert Dibuono asked council to vote down the stop intersection. He said forcing traffic to stop there would impact the ability for some vehicles to get a running start to make it up the hill in the winter and might also be difficult for vehicles to stop at the bottom of the hill. Senior/Sophomore Team Wins Ellwood City Powerpuff Bowl 38-6

The Senior/Sophomore team defeated the Junior/Freshman team 38-6 in the Ellwood City Powerpuff Bowl held Friday evening at Helling Stadium. The Senior/Sophomore team used an impressive rushing attack and forced two turnover to win the annual flag football contest held among Lincoln High School female student body. Ava Trputec opened up the scoring with a 8-yard touchdown run for the Junior/Freshman team but the 6-0 advantage was short lived. ECASD Board of Directors Vote to Fund North Side, Hartman Capital Improvements

The Ellwood City Area School District’s Board of Directors voted 5-3 to Adopt a Resolution, as prepared by Bond Counsel, authorizing the issuance of General Obligation Bonds, in an amount not to exceed $11,905,000, for capital improvements to the School District’s educational facilities  (View a copy of the study here). Tenaris-Owned Steel Recycling Services Acquired Koppel Scrap Processing Yard

Tenaris announced this week that its subsidiary, Steel Recycling Services, has acquired the Beaver Falls scrap processing yard from SA Recycling. The yard is located adjacent to Tenaris’s steelmaking facility in Koppel, Pennsylvania, and it covers approximately 39 acres. The investment enables Tenaris to integrate its steel production with scrap processing, streamlining and optimizing its production process in the US, and strengthening its domestic manufacturing capabilities. SA Recycling will continue operating the yard during a transition period, until early 2026.
