Ruth J. Jubach, 87, formerly of Ellwood City, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, April 1 2018 at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Wexford PA. She was born in Ellwood City on November 2 1930, to the late George and Anna Marie “Oma” Bruner Jubach. Ruth graduated from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City in 1949.  She had worked for a time in the business offices at aircraft companies in California, and also worked for various companies here, including Medusa Cement Company in Wampum.   But she was mainly known here as the longtime secretary to late Attorney Wilbert McKim. Patricia G. Quinn Shoaf, 64, of  Beaver Falls (North Sewickley Twp.), passed away peacefully into Jesus’ arms, on  Wednesday evening,  March  28, 2018 after a 16 month  courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Ellwood City on January 5 1954 to the late Warren Quinn and  Emma Virginia Aiken Quinn of  North Sewickley, who survives. Dora M. Graff,  94, of   Pittsburgh (Oakland), formerly of Pander Hollow Road, Franklin Twp. (Ellwood City), passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 17 2018, in Pittsburgh. She was born on the family farm in Franklin Township, Beaver County, on January 16 1924, daughter of  the late  Robert John Graff and the late Sarah Elizabeth Moyer Graff. Dora began her education at the old Greenwood Elementary School  in Fombell, and graduated from Geneva College.  She worked for many years in the pathology departments of the Forbes and Southside Hospitals. Jean B. Steele Cooper, 99, of Hollow Road, (Wayne Township) passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, March 15 2018 at her home. She was born in Wayne Township (New Castle) on January 7 1919 to the late Walter  and Myrtle Newton Steele. Jean graduated from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City, and attended New Castle Business College.  She worked at Little Fellows  and Leopardi’s Potato Chip factory, and  at Jean’s Flower Shop, all in Ellwood City. Jean Cunningham Wick, 96

Jean Morrow Cunningham Wick, 96,  was born on Foch Street in the Ewing Park section of Ellwood City on May 11, 1921 to parents Carrie Burket Morrow and Charles King Morrow.  Shortly after her birth, her father, C.K. Morrow, built the house in Ewing Park where she grew up. Jean spent her final years there until health required a move to the Trinity Oaks Care Center in Beaver,  where she passed away on Saturday morning, February 10 2018.  That  nearly one hundred year old house in Ewing Park, built by her father, is still occupied by members of her family….

Joyce Georgia Poole Snowden,  89, formerly of Beaver and North Sewickley, passed away peacefully on Thursday,  February 8, 2018 in the Wesbury UM Retirement Center in  Meadville, PA. She was born September 16, 1928 in Steubenville, OH to the late Edgar Alan Poole and Georgianna Ramaley Poole. She graduated from New Brighton High School in 1946 and married the late Donald L. Snowden in 1948. Charles W. Evans, Jr., 59, of Butler PA,  formerly of Ellwood City, passed away on Tuesday evening, February 6  2018 at a friend’s residence. He was born in Ellwood City on February 2 1959 to Joan Gosciewski  Evans of Ellwood City, and the late Charles William Evans Sr. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Evans. Phyllis Jean   Main Gordon, 89, of Ellwood City,  passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, January 31, 2018 at the Avalon Nursing Center in New Castle, after an extended illness. She was born in Ellwood City on May 5 1928 to the late Curtis  and Edith Majors  Main. She was a longtime member of  Park Gate Baptist Church. Bernard Wise Carbeau, 92, of Ellwood City (Marion Township, Beaver County), passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, January 28, 2018.  He was at his home, surrounded by his loving family.  Ben was born in Ellwood City on April 1, 1925 to the late Charles William Carbeau and the late Florence Wise Carbeau.   He was a 1943 graduate from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City.  He went on to earn  a B.S.  degree in Commerce from Penn State University in 1950. Lydia M. Simmons, 81, of Ellwood City, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, January 19, 2018 at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler. She was born in Zelienople PA on March 28 1936 to the late Charles Mathes  and Lydia Josephine Davidson.   She also was preceded by her stepfather, Scotty Davidson. Lydia was preceded in death by her late husband, Herman Simmons, who died in 1980, and by her longtime companion, Earl R. Edinger, who died in 1995.
